My wife and I are planning our 1st trip to DL with our 5 year old boy on Aug 25 & 26. Staying at the Annabella. Lots of questions, but most important is which park on which day, best times, tips on short wait times.

Best thing is get to either park early to take advantage of low AM crowds. Take an afternoon break and go back in the evening. Since it is the weekend, plan on it being busy later in the day especially.

The 25th will be a lot less crowded than the 26th. Southern CA annual pass blackout is lifted for Sunday the 26th. Both days, get to the parks at the rope drop. I would do DCA on the 25th, then Disneyland on the 26th. It's only the 2nd Sunday the block is lifted, so every So Cal resident (or most) that haven't seen Cars Land yet will be making a beeline for there.
