This will our 1st time to the MVMCP and need all of your advice ? We will be attending the Dec. 5th party and need some help in setting up our night. This will be a very special night, for many reasons we are celebrating our 36th wedding Anniversity, my Birthday, and Retirement ! Alot for one night :cool1: I have been trying to make early seating reservations at the Liberty Tree Tavern, but they are all booked up :confused3 the best we can do is 7:50 pm. Do you think that this is too late and we will miss too much of the party. Maybe we could go to dinner early at the Cayon Cafe at the Wilderness lodge at 5:00pm and then to the Party ? If any of you could help I would greatly appreciate it. I just want this to be as romantic as possible. 1st time on the board also... ::MickeyMo

jimmy-
You can get into the Magic Kingdom at 4:00 with only your MVMCP ticket. I would highly suggest you get there then!! See if you can eat somewhere else inside the park as close to 4 as you can get. We ate at Tony's at 4 for the Halloween Party. You will NOT want to eat at LTT at 7:50. You will definately miss a lot of the party.. the first parade is around 8:15.. you would miss that. Fireworks are usually 9:15 ( im going by my party schedule from last year) you would possibly miss that if they didnt seat you right away.

What I would personally do is see the parade ( the second one is usually less crowded, but if you are traveling with little ones that might not make the first one, you need to get your spot at least an hour early, and see the first one. IT snows on Main Street during parts of the party and during the parade. It will be more crowded there, but its really awesome sitting there watching the parade in the snow!!!

Definately see the fireworks. I love watching them from the street area in front of the castle. Everyone crowds the walkways and sidewalks, so its always pretty easy to walk up and just stand in an open area of the street!! I think watching them from the front of the castle is best!!

I personally would see as many of the Christmas shows as you could. Last year it was 'Mickey's Twas the night before christmas', 'celebrate the season' at the castle, Wild West Christmas Show in liberty square at the saloon, Belles enchanted Christmas in fantasyland, Santas snowflake special in fairytale garden, and a brass band in tomorrowland. The country bears will have their christmas themed show going on as well, but you can see that EVERY at MK after thanksgiving so I would skip that on the party night. Try to check out the characters dressed up for chrismas and winter!! And dont forget the free hot cocoa and cookies all night!! YUM!! I really wish I was going to this again this year.. next year for sure!!! I love this party!

Oh. if you want the special merchandise that says MVMCP, shirts, pins, etc.. you can ONLY get it the night of the party!! Have Fun!!

The gate will be very crowded at 7:00pm by quest just arriving. Wear or have some fall/winter clothing or plan on buying some sweatshirts, since it may be a cool night. We had fun buying the special Christmas hats of all types and collector pins. They have a special MVMCP map which outlines the meet and greet, picture stations, hot chocolate, parade path, etc. Have fun but expect crowds and if you want a good spot for a parade plan on getting a spot early. I would eat before the event and just snack during the event with seasonal items.

Congratulations on all of your life events!! party: As far as when to eat that day...My DH and I will be attending the party on Nov. 27th (that is our 24th anniv.) We will be going into the park at about lunch time that day. We have a 1:00 lunch ressie at the Crystal Palace. We decided to have our big meal at lunch. That frees us up for the rest of the days events. Here's wishing you pixiedust: for a magical trip.

Wow! You have a lot to celebrate! We will be there Dec, 5 for our first MVMCP too! Our trip is to give our 17 year old son one more family trip before he graduates and goes out into the big world. *sniffle* (He's the baby of 4. Mama's gonna have trouble letting go of this one!)

MissionMouse, thanks for all the great info! I can't wait to attend this party, it sounds like a blast!

Sara

I agree with Smileybug about making lunch your sit down meal of the day. That is what we did. At the party, we grabbed a quick hamburger at Pecos Bill. If possible, try to take your pic early before you look rough. We did that last - not pretty, it had rained. Find out wear the pics are being taken and head straight to the one farthest from the entrance.

Another first timer on dec. 5th!!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

This thread is great to see all the tips and advices, thanks!!! :thumbsup2

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

:grouphug: Welcome and congrats! :cheer2: I don't have any advice for you. We'll be there for our first MVMCP on Dec. 5 too. See ya there

Glad to see so many other Dec 5th MVMCP DISers here!

I think that MVMCP is all what you make it. Personally, my kids don't want to wait for characters (DS#1 is actually pretty scared of them) so we spend most of our time riding the rides. We really like to ride during parade times as the lines are non-existant.

As for food, we either eat before we arrive or just grab a quick meal in the park at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's> Thi is defintely one evening we don't want to waste at a TS restaurant! Way to much to do and see!!!

I do recommend arriving as close to 4 as possible. We actually take it easy during the day (no other parks for us :sad2: ) and then enjoy the whole evening. We try to catch the late parade as the crowds are much lower because most of the families with little ones are gone.

I know that our family is much different than others when it comes to MVMCP but for us the rides are the most important. We enjoy the atmosphere but being able to rides several times in a row without getting off is our #1 reason for attending MVMCP!

Me too! Me too! First time and can't wait. We plan on eating a late lunch at Tony's that day at 2:45 and then just doing CS later whenever we get hungry. Heck, maybe we'll just eat chocolate chips cookies and drink hot cocoa the rest of the night.

See you there!! Oh, we'll be there celebrating our 10th anniversary.

Lori

We'll also be at MVMCP on the 5th. We are celebrating our 10th anniversary and my birthday. We have 5PM ADR's at WCC (couldn't get LTT either) but we have been considering just doing Cosmic Rays and spending the extra time riding rides. I didn't know until yesterday when I called to see if there had been any cancellations at LTT that we can get in at 4PM. We wanted to check out the WL Christmas decorations but I guess we can always go earlier than 4PM.

Wow there are a bunch of us going that night - just bought our tickets -- its our 24th anniversary on the 4th (going to Narcoosees that night!) and doing the party on the 5th! It isn't our first time though - I think this is probably the 4th or 5th party we have been to -- lots of fun.

I have dinner planned at Tony's but might cancel that - just not sure!

Liz

Wow, I'm glad we won't be the only first timers there on the 5th. :goodvibes

We also have ressies at Tony's for that evening but are thinking of cancelling so we don't waste party time. :confused3

Thanks for all the great party advice. :thumbsup2

WOW ! I didn't realize that there are so many of us here that will be going to the party on Dec. 5th :cool1: Thanks for all of your advice ! I cancelled our reservations at the LTT and will eat early anfd arrive at 4pm. We are staying at the Riverside so it won't take long to get there. We are getting so excited about this visit. 1st time at Christmas time even though we have been to WDW 12 times with the kids in the past... Looking forward to PARTYING with all of you. Thanks again!! :hourglass

To all of you I was a first timer too last year and it was wonderful :thumbsup2 take an ealier posters advice and be sure to see all of the Christmas/holiday themed things that you can not see except for MVMCP. If you are not travelling with small children wait and see the 2nd parade. We rode Splash and Thunder many times in a row didn't have to get off last year doing this my dd loved this. Pay attention to the weather last year we had on our Ohio winter gear the later it got. You may feel like an idiot carrying in hats and mittens but we were glad we did by the end of the evening. Have a magical time and OP welcome to the DIS!!!

It's our 1st MVMCP too! Still debating whether to go on he 4th or 5th...

Here's a question for you vets:
The last 2 years we've been to MNSSHP. After each trip, we wish we could have gone twice, because there is so much to do! Will we feel that way after MVMCP as well? Should we go twice? (There are actually 4 parties during our stay.) Should we wait and see how the first one goes? How long before the party do you have to buy the tickets for them to be considered "advance"? Can you buy them at the concierge desk in the hotel (WL/Poly)?
Thanks!
