We will be going to Disney March 20-25. We will have 6 days in the park and I need to know where to eat. We are doing the dining plan so I would like to book our sit down dinners ahead of time so we can eat at some fun places. So what do you suggest??? We have 3 boys ages 7, 6, and 4 and are so excited!!:cool1:

Sci Fi at Hs
50's Prime at Hs
TuskerHouse Breakfast - Donalds Safari - AK
Biergarten at Epcot
Coral Reef at Epcot

There are a lot of options out there. Not knowing what your tastes are can be a challenge but here are some suggestions we always put out there for friends who are new to dining at WDW.

'Ohana - It's in the Poly and close to the MK. We love their dinner and breakfast. The breakfast is a character meal with Stitch and Lilo. Dinner is served family-style which is great for families. They also do hula lessons and conga lines which are great breaks for kids during the dinner hour. Makes it more fun.

Tusker House - In AK this is a really good breakfast with an enormous selection. It also has characters.

Whispering Canyon Cafe - In the Wilderness Lodge near the MK. Our family thinks this is always good fun. A western theme and like 'Ohana they have lots of activities for the kids. They pick on the parents and kids love that. The BBQ isn't bad either.

Biergarten - If your family likes German food this is good fun with kids. The food is a buffet but them have an Ompah band and they encourage rowdiness and dancing. But you have to love German food.

There' a lot of options out there so take a look at what may interest you. You're getting close to your travel dates so you really should do your best to book as soon as possible. May people book at the 6 month mark and availability will get more limited the closer you get.

Good luck and have fun.

A must is Ohana for breakfast we all love it! And its hard making a 16, 14, 3 year old all happy...but this one does it!!!!

Coral Reef was not worth it! (By Disney standards). The food was not that great, and we have eaten at Aquarium restaurants before.

We loved Tony's in MK. But, I am a huge Lady and the Tramp fan and it was for our honeymoon.

I love Cinderella's Royal Table if you can get a reservation and want to use two credits. You get a picture with Cinderella included in your meal. Kids get wands or swords and a wishing star. Food is great, and it is a character meal.

Hubby likes Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, but I'm not big on buffets.

We both liked Sci-fi in HS. If you love corny 50s sci-fi clips you will love this. Plus, the car booths are adorable. (Go for lunch). Another favorite was Mama Melrose.

And, if you can get in Le Cellier in Canada at Epcot is AMAZING. It was by far the best food we had. But once again, we were going for more romantic and less kid friendly.

Quite honestly, we still have found nothing at AK.

Oh and I forgot the name of the restaurant in Mexico. I went several trips back and it has really good food.

Hubby is a REALLY picky eater, and we were not sure he would be able to get something he would eat.

Asking people what restaurants to go to is so subjective. Case in point: Best meal I EVER had on Disney property was at Coral Reef. Absolute worst food (and I use that term loosely) and service was LeCellier. Already on this thread are completely opposing opinions of the same places. For every restaurant on property you will get 'go' and 'don't go' votes.

My suggestion is for you to research the menus here on the DIS and go with what YOU think your family will enjoy as far as entertainment, food and cost goes. How your experience turns out will completely depend on your tastes, the server/chef and the time of day - none of which can be predicted or replicated by another family.

Have a GREAT trip and enjoy!!

We really like the character dinner at Garden Grill a couple of years ago. Farmer Mickey and the restraurant rotating (ever so slowly) kept our kid entertained. The food is served family style and comes quickly. The menu was a take on American home cooking.

I agree with previous posters that Ohana is a lot of fun, though perhaps not the tastiest grilled meats that I have ever eaten.

We also liked Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom; it was great food and an exotic atmosphere.

Our favorite counter service restaurants so far are Flame Tree Barbeque in Animal Kingdom and Starring Rolls at Hollywood Studios.

Have a great trip!

Don't dwell on it to long, you can book up to 180 days in advance and there will be alot of spring breakers then so it liable to fill up quick. Crystal Palace is good for a character meal in Magic Kingdom, my girls still love that one and they are 13 and 15. Le Cellier is good in Epcot, but a little fancier, kids may not enjoy. I have not found a place in Hollywood Studios yet that i do like, and in Animal Kingdom, the bar b q place in good and it is just a quick service. Make sure that you get a dole whip over by Aladdins flying carpet in Magic Kingdom, they are so awesome, cant remember the name of the place to get them, but they are soooo good.

Thank you for your opinions. I realize restaurants are subjective but it is fun to hear everyones opinions. I think we are going to try these:

Character Breakfast at Chef Mickey
Dinner at La Hacienda in Epcot(We love mexican food)
Fantasmic dinner package at HS eating at the italian one (can't remember the name)
Dinner at Ohana at the the Poly
Character Breakfast at Crystal Palace
and we have one more that we will decide on later

We tried to go for things that we would like and our boys would enjoy. I personally would have loved the Cinderella's round table but my 3 boys might not be so thrilled:confused3 LOL

Thinking about the fact that you have 3 young boys, this is what comes to mind for me:

'Ohana Dinner
Tusker House
Crystal Palace
50's Prime Time Cafe
Sci-Fi Dine In
Whispering Canyon Cafe

You might want to check out the menus on this website. It will give you a better idea on how it will fit your family.

DHS- Sci Fi, 40s PT

EC - Garden Grill, Biergarten

MK - LTT

Resorts - WCC, 1900 Park Fare, Ohana, Raglan Road

Most of these restaurants have some kind of entertainment.

Chef Mickey's for breakfast is a good choice. The first year we loved the food, and we loved the characters, the second year the food was okay, but the characters were out of this world good! We booked a late breakast, around 11:30. We went into MK for a bit, then took the monorail over to Chef Mickey's. We were in a room off to the side, and the rest of the place was empty! There was a group of teenage girls who were hoarding the characters, but the management stopped that asap! We saw all of the characters several times througout our meal. It is your normal buffett fare, but we still love it.

looks like you have made some good choices! i think those will be great for you and your family. if you need one more, i might suggest 50's Prime Time at DHS or Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness lodge...both are fun for kids and each time i have eaten there i have enjoyed my meals!

Thanks I was looking into the one at the Wilderness lodge for one of the days we will be at MK. We do have one more TS meal and the OCD in me would liek to have it booked before we go!! We are also going to eat at T-rex while at AK because I just know my boys will LOVE it!!
