I am going to DL for the very first time in about 10 days... Taking 3, young teen girls, my 2 daughters and my youngest daughters best friend...

I was looking for some tips because with all of the other things we have planned we will only have 1 day at the park...

What are the best attractions/rides. I know we won't be able to see everything, so I just want to hit the highlights... We do have family in the area and are going to be spending a couple of nights with them and our hotel and airfare has been paid for by a trip my youngest daughter won from radio disney... The trip is actually for a concert, but we are prolonging it so we can go to DL and visit family.

My daughters are sooooo excited and as a single mom, I can't usually afford much in the way of vacations, so I am really excited for them also!

I just found this site while looking for information on disney on a budget, so any tips on that would be great also. This site is awesome!!!

Thank you
Reba

I really think you should concentrate on just Disneyland and skip California Adventure. My biggest piece of advice is to get there before park opening. Use Fast Pass (it's free and allows you to get a lot more done). Try to fit in some shows (the best one--Billy Hill & the Hillbillies). See the parade and fireworks.

There's a Budget Tips section in the WDW area of this site that might be helpful - I found lots of great ideas for saving money on food and drink, what to pack (so you don't wind up buying at DL/DW), etc.

Thank you guys for the information...

Could you please post a link to that post on the budget... I can't find it... Tried search, but I don't seem to be able to find anything.

Also, I am soooooo excited. I just talked to the person doing our booking, etc. and she has included 1 day tickets to DL. So, we don't have to pay for the tickets. Now I am wondering if it would be possible to upgrade those to 2 day passes... Does anyone know if you have 1 day passes if it is possible to upgrade to 2 day passes?

Thanks
Reba

Yay! I found the answer to one of my questions.

You can upgrade any ticket by the end of the day, of the last day it is valid...

thanks
