We've been to WDW over a dozen times, but this will be my first trip with my DD to DL. Any suggestions on how to find the best price? I've got quotes from the Disney Club and, as I 've seen mentioned before, the package deals are actually better than buying hotel and tickets separate! Other than Disney Club, any other suggestions for best price? Thanks in advance!

Are you only looking for on property hotels? Try expedia for on property - also look at Disney.com website and see what discounts an AP will get you. Even if only one member of your party buys an AP, the discounts could be worh it.

Sometimes we do Priceline for Anaheim (Disney Area) three star - we always get the Convention Area Marriot for $35 -40.

When we want a "sure thing" but are too broke for DLR hotels we go to Candy CAne Inn. The price range is $69 -130. It is a comfie standard U shape motel, close to DLR and quiet with VERY nice staff.

We have used the Disney Travel Co about 3-4 times and they have been the same price as the other travel agencies or online things. They are MUCH better than their east coast counterparts. Also try www.mousesavers.com and
http://www.get-away-today.com/disneyland.htm for more options. The only thing about the Disney Travel Co...I only used "their" airlines once (American and United) and since I much prefer Southwest I only get their land package including transfers using super shuttle or airport bus or rental. Try to fly into John Wayne Airport as its much closer. smaller and nicer.
Most of the motels ans hotels theu recommed are nice. Candy Cane being alot of peoples favorite.

Grand Californian here we come Dec 13-17 2002

I kept checking various things. What actually worked out best for me was a Disney package via the website. It was one of the stay 3 night get the 4th free with a 5 day hopper for the cost of a 3 day. I would never book a package for WDW, but this was a much better deal for an onsight. I tried booking my room via expedia, but since I arrive on Sunday night of Columbus day weekend I could not get a cheap rate that night which made it not as good a deal to do it myself.

Try requesting a quote from Dreams Unlimited as well. I used them for a DL trip last fall and they were great! This was for an October trip, and they had a Fall Getaway special where you got one night free if you booked a minimum of 3 nights. Also, an extra day was added to our passes for free too. As another poster mentioned, unlike WDW, DL packages are actually worth their value where you at least break even, but you could even come out ahead. It's nice to have all the passes, taxes, etc. taken care of with the package. (DL also has packages for Good Neighbor, i.e. "offsite" hotels too.)

I second DU, they outperformed my own attempts & took the hassle out of it.
