1st time staying DVC, question

I've looked around and can't see this information listed, and perhaps I'm overthinking this. We have a long weekend reservation for a deluxe studio at Kidani Village, and we've never stayed at a strictly DVC resort. I'm wondering if it's more like an airbnb where they give you a starter supply and you're expected to bring your own toilet tissue, etc. or if it's like hotels during the pandemic where they don't do daily replenishing but you only have to ask for fresh towels and more coffee/toilet tissue, etc. Thanks.

The latter. Basic necessities will be there to get your stay started. You will LOVE Kidani - at least we do. Enjoy!

Just a suggestion, if you're interested. If there is a way to request a room location at Kidani, we always ask for a room located closer to Jambo House. The AKL is a very large resort. Jambo House is the original side of the resort, where there's a pool, and most of the restaurants. If you're on that end of Kidani, it's a very simple walk over if you want to eat at Boma or just check out that part of the resort. You'll still have easy access to the Kidani pool, the Kidani store/gift shop, and Sanaa for dining. If you do not wish to walk between the 2 buildings, you can take Disney transportation, too. Enjoy!

It's basically a hotel room. Really no difference. Like the above poster mentioned, the place is big and our last room there was a LONG walk down the hall from the elevator. I forget how many steps it was, but I did track it at the time.

Also, the front desk at most resorts usually keeps a small supply of coffee packets behind the counter. When you're passing through, you can always ask for some extras so you don't need to wait for Mousekeeping.

Sounds more like you might have been on the Jambo House side of the resort. That's more of a typical hotel room, except for the refurb they did on a couple floors to change the rooms to DVC many years back. The DVC studios at Kidani are much nicer than a typical hotel room - in our opinion. And there are 4 elevators spaced out throughout the Kidani resort, so you don't need to walk that far to get to/from one of them. The walks within Jambo can be much longer if your room is on one of the far wings.

I just meant to say that the rooms themselves are basically hotels room with all the same amenities as far as toiletries. It all depends on what type of room you get (studio to me is like a regular hotel room).

We were toward the end of the hall (the left of Kidani if looking straight at it from the Entrance). We did have relatively easy access to pool. We were past the Elevator for the pool area if that makes any sense. The Pembe Savanna I believe. So for us, no matter what elevator we used (we had no car). We had to walk to the elevator or just down the hall from main lobby. It's just an observation that a lot of people make, especially for people with mobility issues. We requested a room closer to the lobby, but they just couldn't fulfill that. No biggie.

It is a beautiful resort! Loved everything. Just wanted to clarify what I meant.

Sorry, when I hear of long walks, I think of Jambo House!! We did have a room one trip at Jambo that really added to our Fitbit totals! You're right - awesome rooms and resort. Looking forward to getting back there again in December. We've missed it!

They will give you more of the ¨starter supply¨ but towels are something that is an option to pay for an extra set, like $4.00. If you really need them clean there is a free washer/dryer near the pools I think. If you ask for towels you may get some for free.

I believe the towel pack are now free, you just have to call and ask. Same with paper plates and plastic utensils etc.

Agreed. We were not charged anything extra when we asked.
