We will be flying AirTran for the first time Jan.22. We have always used SW, but AirTran had better deals with the perfect times for nonstop flights. I think I understand the process of it all but please correct me if I am wrong.

I can check-in online the night before (I paid in advance to select our seats.)I can pay online for our baggage. When I arrive at the airport I can check-in curb side. On our flight home I know the WL will print out our boarding passes. I will then use BAGS to pay for our luggage.

Do I have it correct? Am I missing anything?

We just used AirTran for the first time on 1/1/10 and returning on 1/8/10.....we also usually fly SWA.....our reason this trip was price and location....it's a 2 hr drive to PHL for SWA and AT is now flying from ABE (Lehigh Valley) which is only an hour drive. Sounds like you have it right to me, however, I have one question.......are you planning to have BAGS transport your luggage back to MCO? If you are NOT, but, prefer to take them yourself.....the concierge desk can check you in and also take care of your cc info to pay for your bags.......I was unaware we could have had BAGS take care of our luggage until the CM at the concierge desk told me.....we chose not to since we would have needed to have the luggage ready to go almost 4 hours before our flight......so I just had him check us in and check our bags also.....then, when we took our rental car back to MCO, we just walked our bags to curbside check-in to be tagged (the line inside was way too long). It was well worth the $10 tip to do it curbside.

Thanks for the reply. We are using ME to get back to the airport. Our flight home doesn't leave until 8:10 PM so we have plenty of time to get our bags ready.

You don't need to have the WL print your boarding passes separately. When you check your luggage at the BAGS desk, they can also print your boarding passes.

Since you already have your seating assignments, there's no rush to check-in 24 hours before you fly home.

What is a BAGS desk?

What is a BAGS desk?

It is the RAC desk located at or near the entrance of each resort. You can use that to send your luggage ahead to the airport, if you are flying on a participating airline. It is if you are using ME to return to the airport.

Is RAC also bell services (Where I check my luggage that last day while I am running around WDW)?

No RAC is the resort airline check-in. That is where you send your bags ahead of you to the airport.

Bell Services is where you stash your luggage if you are planning on taking it with you on the ME bus, if you cannot check in at RAC because your flight is too early, if you are taking a taxi or a car back to MCO, etc.

In certain cases, such as SSR, they are quite near each other.

At places like POR, the RAC is inside, Bell Services is just outside the door.

If I understand this correctly. I can go to RAC at POR. Leave my checked luggage, pay the Airtran baggage fee & get my boarding passes. Then i check my carry-on with bell services as usual until it is time to board the ME bus.

You got it!!!!!

At POR, the RAC desk is inside right next to the concierage desk.

Bell Services is right outside the entrance to the lobby.

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone for the responses! I like to know what to do ahead of time. I will be using BAGS for sure!

I've flown several times with Delta and other Intl Air Carriers and i found Air Tran better than some European Air Carriers .

During our stay in October they had both desks outside. :)
