In June I'll be going back to Universal for the first time in 10 years. I can't wait! I'm sure that a lot will have changed and it will almost be like being a 1st timer again. I'm staying on site in the Hard Rock Hotel for one night, and I have an all access card so fingers crossed for the free upgrade! I'm going just after the grand opening of WWOHP I can't wait to see it! Its the main reason I'm going and I've figured with how busy both parks will be in general because of that the FOTL passes will make staying on site worth it :wizard:

Anything you can recommend for this newbie - Not a big coaster fan, but I do love other rides in general!

I went for my first visit since 1996 in 2008 (And I'm going back for the third summer in a row-I guess I'm a closeted redhead). The Mummy is awesome, MiB is awesome. The Beetlejuice Show is great, I also like the horror makeup show.
Spiderman is the best ride in Orlando. I kind of liked going on Disaster as I had been on it when it was Earthquake.

Mummy is a cant miss attraction, but I know you mentioned that you are not a rollercoaster person. The Mummy does not go upside down if that provides any comfort. Men In Black is great as well. My stomach can not handle motion simulators. That being said. The Simpsons (formerly Back to the Future) and Spiderman are awesome rides. Dudley Doo Right, Popeye, and Jurassic Park River Adventure are great water rides that can help you beat the heat.

I had not been to Universal since Oct 2000 until my recent trips in Oct 2009 and April 2010.

I am a Disney geek, but my 2 most recent trips to Universal made me realize that I waited too long to go back.

For IoA, I love the 3 water rides and Spiderman is still the best ride I have ever been on. Most rides never live up to the excitement of experiencing them the first time, but with Spiderman, I am able to re-capture that excitement every time.

For Universal Studios, the Mummy is an awesome coaster. Not super scary by coaster standards, but very fun and very well done. I also loved the Simpsons ride! The detail of the queue is so much fun. I wish there were more Krustyland souvenirs available to buy. I enjoyed all of the attractions (although I thought the pre-shows for Twister and Disaster were a bit too long.)

Enjoy your trip!

Universal-IOA has changed alot in the past 10yrs.

I'm sure you will find a different place when you return!:thumbsup2

I thought you were talking about just IOA for some reason. Not much has really changed at that park.
