I am planning a trip for myself, husband and two daughters ages 7 & 8. I am thinking of going November 29th - December 6th. Here are my ?
Is this a good time of the year? Is there any conventions going on during this time?
Hotels? Howard Johnson, Candy Cane, Tropicanna, Anabella? any comments on hotels?
Weater - what to bring?

Hi, sorry I can't help with any of your questions but your post is still fresh so I'm sure others will come along with info. Just wanted to mention that it's okay to bring in outside snacks and drinks. Everything inside is expensive as expected and it really helps save some money if you bring in your own goods like chips, fruit, soda cans, etc. Only thing they don't want to see are glass bottles and alcohol. Some people have reported issues with sandwiches but it may be possible as long as they're in a cooler, but even then the cooler must be under a certain size.

"Good" is all relative. The parks will be in full holiday mode, and many people like that. It will be crowded on weekends during those dates, and less crowded on weekdays.

Do not know about conventions, but I believe it will be on Dec. 3-4 when DL will close early because of Cast Member holiday parties. Others around here know more about this than I do.

Stay within walking distance. There are at least 12-15 options for this. See the links in this thread:

Weater - what to bring?
It might be in the 70's or even 80's, and in the 50's at night, or might be in the 50's during the day and 30's at night. It might rain. Be prepared for warm and cold.
