1st Time Cali and DLR trip planning

Hi there! Planning our first trip west for end of June/early July 2025. I have been reading as much as possible over the last few months but I have a few questions that I would love your help on.
We would fly from NY to LAX and would like to visit Griffith Observatory and also do the WB Studio Tour before heading to DLR. So I am thinking of a hotel near Griffith and WB for night one, then onto GCH.
Does anyone know how far in advance you can book the WB Studio tour?
We will not be renting a car, as the stress of driving in LA would be overwhelming for me. I plan on booking a car service from LAX to first hotel, then a car service or Uber/Lyft to GCH the next day.
I need help choosing a hotel for night one, please. Or at least tell me where, location wise, specifically to search. Would the hotel hold our luggage if our room was not ready? I was thinking do WB tour first, then Griffith for sunset? We would Uber/Lyft to WB and Griffith.
It will be myself and my 2 college-age children.
Any other advice you have would be sincerely appreciated.

I would stay in Burbank...15 minutes from both give or take. Check Trip Advisor for the range of hotels and their amenities. I have often purchased Warner Bros studio tickets the day of! However, you can reserve any time online. It's a fabulous tour. Sunset at Griffith will be cool. You are wise to UBER as there is very limited parking at the observatory. Enjoy.

we have also lucked out on deals the two or three business class hotels in "downtown" Glendale.
