1st time at YC - rooms request recommendations?

This will be our first stay at an Epcot area resort and are really excited to spend a week at the YC in August! We've got a standard view club level room and our party consists of adults only (all healthy, no special needs). Being unfamiliar with the resort I'm not sure if it's necessary to make any room requests. The options are:

• ground floor
• lower floor
• upper floor
• near elevator

For those of you that have experienced the YC, are any of these options preferable over the others? If we get placed at either end of the resort, is the walk from the lobby a pain in the behind after a day at the park or not a big deal?

Any feedback and suggestions you provide is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

YC CL is all on the one floor. Standard view will look toward the parking lot. You could request near the elevator, which might get your room also near the lounge.

As the previous poster said, the club level rooms are all on the 5th floor, so the checkin requests of upper floor, lower floor and ground floor are meaningless for your stay.

The request of near elevator, which is near the lounge, is a great one. A couple of the outlying standard view rooms at the YC have some pretty poor views, so you would be best to have a room centrally located.

I am not sure if you have visited us over on the Beach and Yacht Club FAQ, but the first page of the thread has a lot of great information and pictures about the resort. The posters to that board are very knowledgeable and friendly.

We had a standard view (non CL) first room was one of the awful ones over service area natebenma was referring to, so I went back to desk to request another room and got one near lobby elevator. Much better. Faced front of resort, over Portico.
