Hello i was wondering what you can tell me about BWV? I have never even seen the Boardwalk before so im excited. We are going the 3rd week of SEPT. my sister and i are going with her daughter and her boyfriend to plan my DN's wedding so we just booked on the fly so im not to up to date on this resort. We have a stand, studio. at the villas. Can you see the fireworks from the villas? Is there any RM request i should know about? TIA for all the help.

Some, but not all, of the standard view studios do have a view from the balcony of the upper level fireworks from Illuminations. Ask for an upper floor across from the bus stop.

Unless someone in your party is traveling in a stroller, wheelchair, ECV or has trouble with stairs, explore the stairways near you room. Lots of "shortcuts" that way. The BWV only have one set of elevators, so if someone or something can't handle stairs, you may want to request near the elevators. Those rooms will not have a view of the fireworks, though and may be noisier than the rooms farther from the elevators. Noise at the BWV comes mostly from the hallways - people running & talking. Farther from the elevators, the less noise you have. We've never really been bothered by noise, though and we almost always stay in the standard view rooms.

If you are returning from the MK or AK on the bus and if the first stop is the Swan, get off there and walk back to the BWV. It will be faster than riding all around the loop.

Check out JellyRolls for a fun evening - you have to be 21 to enter, though and there is a cover charge.

Thanks for the help :thumbsup2 this is great info, And i will look into Jellyrolls. I have been to Disney 3 times, 2 in just the last year and as i said before i have never even seen the Boardwalk so i have no idea about it at all but im very excited to learn as much as i can before we get there.:surfweb:

I second that you should check out the stairs near your room. We found they were much closer to the pools and quicker to get outside than using the elevators during our first BWV stay in October. Also some of the stairs might lead you directly to the path that leads to DHS or a shortcut to the bus stop.

We found that the bell service CMs were sometimes helpful about the stairs, and other times led us astray. ;)

Here's a link to a thread that talks about views and has a map showing where the views are located.

If you get boardwalk view it's pretty but you hear the boat blowing its horn every time it comes into dock. And from experience I can tell you it's about every 20 minutes ... every 20 minutes .... every 20 minutes

I agree with all previous posters. Since teh BWV are my home resort, we like walking to Epcot from there. Also take the boat over to the Beach Clubs and eat at Beaches & Cream. We had a blast there in June, cant wait to go back. Also as it was mentioned earlier request a room close to the elevators. It doens't seem that long in the mornign when you leave but it does at night coming back; I should know I have had the pleasure of being in the last room in the hallway. Talk about a workout! Also when you go for ice, bring a gallon size zip lock bag. Fill the ice bucket and the bag and place in the bag in freezer, this way you have a bag of ice not melted and the ice bucket we have placed in teh fridge part to slow the melting.

Request mid hallway. The hallways are long. The rooms closest to the elevators are also closest to the entrance to the building, so the views aren't great. If you don't mind the long walk, end of the hallway offer nice views, we go mid hallway, not too long a walk and decent views of coming up the drive without the noise of the car doors and luggage carts.

It's an AWESOME resort area. Lots to do right there. You said you've never been to BW area. There's a sweet shoppe, a really good bakery, ESPN Zone, Cat Cora's Kouzzina's (sp?) Restaurant, Flying Fish Cafe, and Big River Grille (a working brewery). A nice store for Disney items, as well as Jellyroll's, and Atlantic Dance Hall. Beaches and Cream is a great ice cream shoppe across the water at Yacht & Beach Club.

There's also strolling entertainment on the Boardwalk at night, with jugglers, magicians, etc. It's a very fun atmosphere. It's directly between DHS and Epcot, walking distance to both, with boat transport to both as well. There is a Community Hall for water floaties for the pool, and bike rentals for the pathways, as well as Disney DVD movies for rent.

Personally, I like the sandwiches at the pool bar, as well as the margarita's!:cool1:

Have an AWESOME trip, you have alot to look forward to!
(can you tell it's my favorite place?:lmao::lmao:)

We loved the BWV when we stayed there our last visit. The best part was being able to go to all of the great restaurants at EPCOT. We also really enjoyed being able to just walk around the BW at night...it was so pretty and there is a lot going on.
The BC has a movie night on the beach, so we would stroll over and just sit and watch.
It was also wonderful being able to walk back to the resort after Illuminations...no crowds.
The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly. You are going to have a GREAT time!

We are 4 adult's and we are not doing parks this time we are planing a wedding! So we are excited to do a few things this trip thats for adults. I cant wait to see the area altoghter.:banana::banana::banana:

We stayed at BWV on our last trip in Mid-Sep and loved it !! Quick walk to Epcot and a nice 10 minute water side walk to Hollywood Studios.

We were on the pool side, but never heard any noise from the pool or halls and the pool was always packed. Lots of people sat on the bridge leading to Epcot to see the fireworks.

It was also great to be able to quickly walk over to Epcot to grab dinner within the worlds. You enter in the back entrance to Epcot within the Worlds - rather than the main entrance.

It was a great location !! You should love it :)

Definately go to JellyRolls...a dueling piano bar. It is on the Boardwalk. If you want a table, you need to get there within an hour or so after they open in the evening.

Note: There is a cover charge and you cannot charge to your room. They do take credit cards. I find it is easiest to pay cash for the cover charge (I think $10 per person), then run a tab on my credit card.

Go to the Flying Fish for dinner. One of the best meals on site. Great fish (duh), but also the strip steak is cooked perfectly, the grill they use for it is insane. It's a signature, so it's a little pricey, but well worth it.

Also with Flying Fish, if you can't get an ADR, try a walk-in. They seemed to be decent about getting a table even without a rezzie.

The Fantasia Mini Golf course is easy walking distance behind the Swan. We rarely have kids with us but we always have to play a round. It's a laugh riot. If you eat at Flying Fish the Chef's wine tasting dinner is fabulous and well worth the expense.

You will love it!!! Seriously....That's what I can tell you. It may be hard to say anywhere else!! At least, that is the way it is for DH & I :dance3:

If you are returning from the MK or AK on the bus and if the first stop is the Swan, get off there and walk back to the BWV. It will be faster than riding all around the loop.
And, when going to and from DS, use the Swan/Dolphin boat dock. It is very close to BWV, but if you use the official BWV dock you will cross over to BC/YC and then go to Swan/Dolphin dock. So that's a 10 or so minute trip by itself.
