Hi all! Just got back today from me and my guys (both 25 yrs old) stay at the Royal Pacific. It was our first time staying onsite and it was my guy's first time at IOA ever (I had been before).

I live in Tampa area and the weather has been very warm for quite some time. It was still very very warm (low 80s) when we went. Nice and sunny.. no issues with the weather.

We arrived around 9:00AM Saturday morn and decided to try and check-in to get passes and room key to get the FOTL express use. Well, turns out our room was ready, so we got our stuff from the car and headed back to the room to drop it off. The resort was beautiful and so were the rooms. We had a standard. It was a good size for two adults. Very nice. We were on the 5th floor and had a good view of Citywalk. (not that we were in the room long)

Walked to IOA... nice stroll.... takes you right to the end of Citywalk and the beginning of IOA. Did IOA really quickly from 10 - 3... went back to room to rest and went to eat at Citywalk at 7. Ate at Pastamore (sp?) and their Chicken Marsala and Parm were pretty darn good! To me it beats the Chick Parm at Carrabba's... LOL.

What stunk was that the 2nd level of Citywalk (from the Groove on to Motown) was closed off for some function. We were going to go to the Groove but we didn't get the chance.

Back to the hotel..... Sleep.....ZZZZZZZ.....

Alright, it's Check-out time. Checked out around 11 and Valeria helped..err..handled our departure. She was snooty ever since we saw her when we checked-in. Geez. She didn't even say "Thank you for staying" or "Hope you had a nice stay" or even ask us about anything. She seemed to care less. I said thank you after everything and she said "yep". Lovely customer service. The other front desk agents were much more friendly.

I did NOT receive my Loew's member gift as well. I inquired about it the day of check-in and they said "Oh, well, you'll receive it tomorrow". I was like "my day of departure?" and Valeria said "Yep". Ugh... ?!?! I didn't say anything when we departed. I will save it for my comment card.

All in all RPR was a beautiful place. I would looooove to stay at Portofino next time and think me and my guy will. We walked from IOA to Portofino during SUNSET and had a pic taken by the water. It was absolutely beautiful. Took the boat back to Citywalk. We are def gonna try and stay there next time for sure!!!!

Sounds like a nice short stay and a good first trip so lucky your room was ready so early:jester:

Portofino looks like Naples to me.
Thanks for the warning Re: Valeria
Pia is the best.
What Tower were you in?
Room? View?

Great report! That Valeria sounds like a "real gem"

I don't get people like that.

Thank you for sharing!

You're welcome! Thanks for reading!

MotherFletcher, we stayed in tower 1, room 1503... nice king bed, standard room... I liked it.

Funny, when you said Portofino looks like Naples, I had to think about that again cuz I am from Naples here in Florida, but I think you meant Italy so I had to laugh.

Anyways... Yeah, Valeria is short (well, everyone is compared to me sorry) and has long curly gelled-up hair, I believe hispanic.... give her back a snotty grin for me if you see her... hehe lol ;)

Can't wait to go to Epcot with my guy :love2: for the Wine Fest in October. I don't drink but he does and hasn't been to Epcot since it opened waaaaay back in the 70s. Wow, I love Epcot so I can't wait to show him how it's changed! :hyper:
Take care all!! :wave2:

I did mean Naples, Fl at the Gordon River Bridge.
Pia is the good one and Valeria must be the short, Hispanic, evil one.
Could you see the park from 1503?
Warning- Mission Space at Epcot is a human centrifuge and most get sick.

Hi Jackie! Thanks for the report! I'm getting ready to write mine, but first I wanted to read yours. I can't believe we didn't run into each other - well, actually, we probably did and didn't even realize it! :) We too checked into the Royal Pacific around 9:00 a.m. on 1/3!! We must have been at the front desk as the same time!! Our room also was ready at that time. We brought our bags up and then headed to IOA around 10:00. What's funny is that we also ate at Pastamore at around 7:00 p.m. same as you!! Wow! What a coincidence!

I am sure you meant Valeria. PIA truly is a gem. I have never had such great service from anyone but her!

I was also promised my Loews gift, we chose cookies for our kids, but never received it during our five night stay. I guess RP has a problem with this. However, I loved my stay and did not encounter the evil Valeria. All of the staff we dealt with were quite pleasant. In fact I am going back in the spring. I have stayed at the PB and loved it, especially the huge bathroom. I would go for a room with a view of the "bay". It is very relaxing to see the boat pull in from your room. Have fun and thanks for the report!

That's funny about the Lowe's gift. We stayed there the first week in January (3 nights) and received our welcome gift twice!! (We had 2 separate reservations). We never even had to ask - she offered it to us right at check-in, and then told us we would receive another one on our second night! It must depend on who you check in with. We had Kate and she was wonderful with us! I've heard read great things about Pia.
