SO....

Who was the first president when you were born if you don't mind me asking.
Nixon was president when I was born, but I don't remember a president til Jimmy Carter. My lists of presidents are:

1. NIXON
2. FORD
3. CARTER
4. REAGAN
5. BUSH
6. CLINTON
7. BUSH(ashamed to say first president I voted for...on his second term) (I was eligible to vote during the Reagan era)
8. OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the inauguration online and it was wonderful! The speech was broken up a lot because of the streaming, but I got the message and to see him sworn in....WOW!

I was born in September 1988, towards the end of Reagan's second term.

The first president I clearly remember is Clinton.

Johnson was president when I was born. I don't remember him as president, but I remember the next president, Nixon, well. I remember thinking how lucky Ford was to first be appointed to the Vice Presidency when Agnew resigned, then the Presidency when Nixon did.

I must be around the same age as the OP. My list is the same.

I just barely remember Nixon resigning. My parents MADE me watch his resignation and his leaving on Air Force 1. They knew it was history in the making and wanted me to have seen it and to remember having seen it.

Edited: He left on a heliocopter, right? Was that Air Force 1? What was it he left on? I remember the heliocopter. I remember being reminded of the fall of Saigon, but in v. strange, different way. (Which I also watched. More history!)

Ford was president when I was born. Clinton's second term was the first presidential election I was able to vote in. I missed his first by 4 months. I didn't turn 18 until a couple of weeks after he took office.

Same list for me. I don't remember Nixon being president at all. I do remember Ford, but my main memory of him is being shot at and falling.

I was at the tail end of Carter...Reagan came into office about 2 months after I was born. The first presidential cadidate I was able to vote for was Al Gore, so that obviously made an impression on the importance of getting out and voting!

When I was born, Nixon had been president for just a few months. My first presidential memory is listening to the radio when my family was camping in August. I was 5 1/2 and Ford was being sworn in.
