We are staying at the BC or YC for the first time this July. We will be arriving at WDW about 4pm. Can anyone suggest a good 1st night restaurant in the area???

We have APs so it could be in one of the parks if needed. We plan on hanging around the pool until the evening and then heading out.

You have the Yachtsman Steakhouse right there at the YC. Or if you think you'll be up for a stroll, dinner at one of the World Showcase restaurants would be a great way to start your trip. Which one really depends on your tastes. There is so much to choose from.

I suggest strolling over to the boardwalk. It's just a 5 minute walk from the BC and there are a variety of restaurants. Sometimes, we enjoy ordering pizza and beer from Spoodles window, sitting outside and watch the entertainers.

There are almost too many choices in that area. You might want to say if you are thinking fine dining, casual or other, and who will be with you.

We usually are getting in late and are tired from flying and just grab something quick at ESPN or Beaches and Cream. If we have time to rest and clean up Flying Fish or a nice stroll over to someplace in Epcot would remind you you're finally in Disney.

The cast is:

My mother, DS (12), and me.

We have APs and a DDE card.

We tend to be very picky and do not care for exotic dishes.

Thank you all for your ideas so far.

Spoodles, The Yacht Club Galley, Beaches and Cream are all casual and excellent choices.

For a casual meal, I like ESPN Club or Beaches and Cream. Both have simple menus and you can always order sandwiches so you could leave room for a snack on the Boardwalk or maybe a treat from Seashore Sweets.

I also like the fish and chips at Rose and Crown over at the UK. Casual meal and pretty standard fare. Some people don't care for this place but we always seem to enjoy it.

Have a great trip! :)

This is my dh's favorite resort and I would definately recommend Cape May
Clam Bake, even if you don't like seafood(we hate it) they have a very large
selection it is nice and laid back. Check out allears for the menu but it is all american, prime rib, pasta, salads, chick nugs, pizza, great big dessert area.
Beaches N' Cream is great but always very crowded and last time I was there
they didn't take ressies and we couldn't get in. Cape May is the way to go,
you can always grab beach n' cream for a quick lunch when it is less crowded.
Have a magical trip.

I second Cape May! We love it. Wonderful desserts on the buffet and the ribs are wonderful.
