1st night, big group, where to dine?

For a 1st night dinner for a family of 9 staying at BCV, you would recommend eating:

  • At ESPN... Lost Boys Club with Fun casual atmosphere!

  • At Cape May... very convenient, great clam bake.

  • At Spoodles... (? )

  • At Beaches and Cream (burgers and ice cream -- can't miss!)

  • At Ohana (yeah, it's gonna be a hike, but it's worth it.)

  • Somewhere else (please fill me in!)

THere will be 4 adults, 4 kids (aged 4 to 9), and 1 infant (9 mos) when we all arrive at the BCV on a Sat night. Where should we dine (normally I cook our first night meal, but this time, I'm stepping down and going on "vacation"!)

Looking to stay somewhat close to BCV (because we will have been traveling all day, and because kids will be itching to get into SAB!) WIll not be heading to parks that night, so that limits us to resort dining. ALso -- need to keep it on WDW property with WDW transport, since other half of fam is not renting car, and ours won't seat us all!

Ideas:

ESPN (Lost boys club! But too crowded on a Sat?)
Cape May (clam bake buffet -- is this good?)
Spoodles (reviews on this make me nervous, though)
Beaches and Cream (burgers are always good... but too hard to get into?)
Ohana (Ok, ok -- not close to BCV... but I'm itching to have fam try it! IS this difficult to get to from BCV?)
SOmething at Swan/Dolphin? (dunno... fill me in!)

I'm open to new ideas, too!!

My vote is for the Clam Bake. I've heard so much about it. And it will be convenient for you and your family!

I would make reservations for the Cape May Buffet. After a day of travelling, knowing that the kids will be itching to get into that pool - I would stay close to home! We've never tried it yet - but may this trip! My youngest would be in steamed clam heaven!

ESPN and Beaches & Cream don't take reservations - so the wait for a party of that size may be tough to take for the first night of vacation with travel frazzled kids. Save those for later in the week!

Ohana also sounds like a fun alternative - maybe for after a day at the MK, when you are already at that end of the world. To get over there wouldn't be bad - just take a bus to MK, then the boat or monorail over to the Poly, but if MK is closed after you get out - you are stuck taking a Bus to Downtown Disney, and switching to a BC bus there!
