When we arrive for our next trip, we will be at the BCV. Group includes 4 adults, 5 kids under 10 (ds-9, ds-7, dd-3, nephews aged 4 and 8 mos).

We should all be able to check in around 2-4 pm (it's a Saturday in the summertime). We will want to maximize our time at SAB, because the next day, we will check into a villa at BWV for the next 8 nts (so no more SAB! :( ) We will have a car, but it doesn't fit 8+ passengers, so we are pretty much left with Disney transport, and after driving / flying all day, we don't feel like hoofing it too far that first night!

So with all that understood (and with the hope it isn't teaming down with a thunderstorm, hence closing SAB anyway!!), here are our ideas thus far:

Cape May buffet (good? We're eating b'fast here the next day...)

ESPN (but how crowded is it on a summer Sat night?)

Beaches/Cream (but with 8+, how easy will it be to sit down there?)

Pizza (just have it delivered -- any suggestions? Not a "special" meal, per se, but usually a kid-pleaser and fairly quick!)

Spoodles (I have no idea what they offer, really -- just threw it in here since it's a BW restaurant!)

Something at Swan/Dolphin? (We are DVC -- could maybe get a discount?)

???? ???? ????

Normally, I cook on our first night -- but this year we won't be getting groceries until day 2 so I get a BREAK from the kitchen! :teeth:
Any suggestions appreciated!

We've made a habit of Cape May the first night at BCV. It's part of the Beach Club experience! I don't see a problem with going back for breakfast the next morning.

Beaches & Cream is not to be missed, and makes sense if you won't have another opportunity. The seating there is 3 booths for 4, 5 tables for 4, 1 table for 2, and 15 counter stools. I believe the tables are round so there is no way to seat 8 "together". If it's busy you would very likely have problems seating 8 next to each other. But if you eat early, it may not be too crowded.

One thing we did last Nov was to go to Palio (Swan) for "flatbreads", i.e. expensive pizza. Their adult pizzas are $14 and children's are $7.50. With the DVC discount it's not too unreasonable, and it comes with good service and atmosphere, and bread! Where else do you get bread served with pizza?! Of course you can order entrees too; they're somewhat pricey.

The Dolphin has Dolphin Fountain, somewhat like Beaches & Cream, and Tubbi's Buffeteria, basic grub on a tray run. Both are a bargain with DVC discount.

The breakfast and dinner experience at Cape May will be totally different so I'd go for it. You'll get a substantially better meal than B&C and still max your time at S&B( and all children 3 and under eat free as well). With the Dolphin so close you will easily be able to use Tubbi's as well if you really can't get everyone out of the pool for dinner, and of course the DVC discount there is pretty substantial. The breakfast will be a character buffett and there are no characters at dinner so the experience will be very different.

I agree -- Cape May!!! We ate there 3 times on our last trip. Also, ESPN club is great, so don't skip that one, either!

you could always get take out from Beaches N Cream, right?

If not the whole meal...then atleast ice cream...mmmmmmm.....LOVE THE ICE CREAM..........

How many more days do I have to go?

Ice cream from Beaches N Cream......:earseek: .....mmmm....ice cream

For a Saturday in the summertime, I vote take-out. Minimize time away from the pool! After supper, it's still warm enough and maybe light enough to swim (although they have big spot lights at SAB). With take out, you don't have to change! Take-out from B&C, or what I did last year was walk over to the Boardwalk-the Bakery has a couple sandwiches, and isn't there a take-out Pizza place over there? Also, I'm pretty sure there's a list, which includes Papa John's (I only mention them because DS works for them and I remember seeing Papa John's coming to Disney hotels), if you want off-site pizza delivered. But whichever, I vote take-out-maximum fun-time and SAB!
