We will be in WDW when my son is 9 months old and I would love for him to have his first hair cut on Main Street.

He's 5 months now and has a good head of hair, so I am thinking he will have a good amount by 9 months. He is also sitting up on his own now, so he will have mastered that skill by then.

Does anyone know if there is a minimum age for the barbershop, or have you taken your little one there that young and had a good experience.

Thanks for your thoughts!

My daughter got her first haircut there when she was tiny. We got Michael and he was great! He distracts the little ones by covering them in stickers. My daughter loved it! She got a very nice certificate, lock of her hair mixed with Disney confetti and best of all Mickey ears with "first haircut" embroidered on the back. Everyone there is wonderful but I highly recommend Michael, he has a way with little ones.:thumbsup2

At 9 mos I would have him sit on your lap. Much safer and he will feel more secure.

My son has his first haircut at home by his aunt he loves at 1 year old and he screamed and cried and acted like we were torturing him. :)

My daughter is going to get hers (only a teeny tiny not at all noticable one) at Disney at almost 3 years old in November just so we can have the experience. There's no way we'd miss it.

I hope your little guy does well! And if not, well get a little haircut and then wait until he's ready later! :)

My son had his first one at Main St Barber Shop at 9 months and it went fine. He sat in the chair and they gave him stickers and had toys for him to play with. He didn't even realize they were touching his head. I say go for it and enjoy the experience.

My son was 9 months when he had his first haircut in Disney..he sat in the chair on his own but I stayed by his side. My oldest daughter had hers around 13 months..also did fine. When we go this Sept my youngest daughter will have her first cut at 14 months. All my kids were born with hair and never lost it so it was pretty long by a yr old!! :) Your son should be fine but just watch him if he is nervous..the haircut only takes a few minutes so I am sure he will do well. Worth every penny I paid to have the pictures, lock of hair and the Mickey Ears! Good luck...make an appointment now if you can :)

Thank you all for your input! I am going to call tomorrow to make an appointment. :)

Before they started taking appts we would be at the door as soon as the park opened and a line formed fast. I would make an appt if you can :)
