Hi I have a 4yr old boy and 6yr old girl we are going to Disney in Dec and I am trying to decide if we should all do the pirates league (since they can do girls as mermaids) or the Bibbidi Boddidi boutique for both(since they do knights for boys) or if we should just split up and send they boys (my DH and son) off to pirates league and me and my daughter do the BBB any thoughts or suggestions would be awesome THANKS!!!!

Both of mine did PL last year and had a blast. DD thinks the hairstyles at BBB look ugly and painful. :rotfl:

Last time we did the Pirates league and my 6 year old boy wasn't interested but my 5 year old girl LOVED being a mermaid. We had our own mermaid costume so they saved $$!!!! We did the Pirates League the year before and they both had fun my daughter didn't really go for the girl pirate thing. This year we are doing BBB since my girl wants to be a princess and my son is into knights. I would still suggest PL, the whole thing was such fun!

My boy/girl twins did both last summer when they were 7. They enjoyed both experiences.

We did one of each. Dh and ds 8 did pirates league and dd 4 did bbb. I got them 20 minutes apart and then we did lunch afterwards at CRT.

Well, I don't have boys but I do have 3 girls. I have fraternal twins that will be 11 soon and an 8 year old. On our last trip which was 11/12 we ended up doing both! Two wanted BBB and one wanted the Empress. All girls are different. I think it's so great they have so many choices. I think to be fair, you should show your kids what each has to offer. I would never tell you that the Mermaid or the Empress will be satisfactory if your daughter is a hard core Princess girl. That said, one of my girls did the Empress and she was in heaven. Like I said, each little girl is different but if yours is all about princesses, I would stick with BBB for her. With no boys, I can't tell you about boys but I can tell you that I saw no boys at BBB. Bottom line, I think it's ok to split up. It's Disney, if it's in your budget and you have the time, I vote let each kid decide what they want. Just my two cents. HTH

enjoyed BBB when he was 6. He watched his sister do it the year before and when she was going back he wanted to also. They didn't have a knight package, they put a colored Mickey in the back and lots of gel and glitter. He had a great time. I wouldn't split up (I would want to watch both kids as it's pretty magical..) if you did both I would do them at separate times.

Have fun! I would probably do them both at one this year and both at the other next year. :cool1:

Just throwing it out there that you can do something like this for one child and not the other.

I knew my daughter would love BBB, so we did that for her. As many times as we asked my son if he wanted to do PL, he didn't. He didn't want to do BBB either, so you know what? He got to walk around and take pictures with DH and BIL and was happy.

Fair isn't everyone getting the same, it's everyone getting what they need.

My son is four and my daughter is six!

We have done BBB before and my daughter LOVED it. She truly LOVED it and was able to have a magical moment with the "real" Fairy Godmother (that's exactly how she told everyone about it, doing her hands to show quotes -- ha ha).

Anywho, we have talked about another trip in the future (our Nov trip is a surprise) in a round about way and I think she really wants to do BBB again. I asked her if she'd recommend BBB or PL for a friend I know from work who's already done BBB before and the brother is doing PL. See how I tried to get her opinion without letting on - ha ha. :thumbsup2 She knows the little girl, so it's totally buyable.

So, we are doing BBB for DD and PL for DS. We have the BBB appointment at 8:15 a.m. and PL at 10:00 (I think those are the times). So, we will all go and watch DD get beautified and then we'll travel over so that my DS can get pirated! We'll be all done by lunch and I'll be traveling MK with a pirate and a princess.

You know your kids best. Is your little girl a total Princess who loves pink and sparkles and fairy dust? Then, BBB is for you, they really do a great job with the girls!

I've never done PL so I can't really speak to that, but I'm so looking forward to letting my son experience it. He's a huge Pirate fan! We're also going to do the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise for him because the last two times we've done breakfast with the Princesses. He's a good sport (and total flirt), but this trip he gets a special treat too!

No matter which way you go, it will be memorable. Bring the tissues...I cried like a baby when we did BBB for my peanut! Expect more of the same with both of my big kids this time. Even my baby is getting in on the action...she's getting her first haircut at the Harmony Barber Shop right after we finish up with PL :yay:

Have a wonderful trip!!!!

Thanks!!! I think my daughter would love BBB but I also think she would really like PL since she isn't all that into the super girly things but loves all the Disney princess's but Ariel is her fav so I think the PL mermaid would be a good choice to!! But thanks for all the great advice and it is super awesome you are surprising them with another trip I hope you have a fantastic time!!!

We have almost 4 year old boy/girl twins. We've decided to do BBB for both, but I already purchased my daughter's dress at the Disney Store's last big sale. We are also doing the Pirates and Pals Cruise. I figure that way everyone can be included, but still get to do their favorite thing: pirates for him, princesses for her.

My DD likes them both. She will be 9 on our next trip and has opted for PL Mermaid package. She LOVED it last year. My DS, however, didn't like having all that makeup on his face (he was 10). He and DH are going to Harmony for colored hair gel.
