1976 Disney Hotels

Dang, we stayed there in the 80s after the name was changed to Hotel Royal Plaza. (still have our room key, actually).
I thought it was odd that there was no 13th floor.
Not having a 13th floor is fairly common. It is consider bad luck.

its the the Disney Golf Resort.

“The Disney Golf Resort” opened in 1973 - and that was the name. It was renamed to The Disney Inn in the 1980s and in the 1990s it was sold to the Dept. of Defense and renamed again to Shades of Green.

If you post an old photo, folks can help identify it.

Enjoy your vacation!

Technically it wasn't sold. It is a long term lease. If they sold it it would cause complications with Reedy Creek Improvement District governance.

Well, technically speaking...correct that Disney does own the land, while the DoD owns the resort. Initially leased, the resort was eventually purchased by the DoD. Disney retained ownership of the land, which is still leased to the DoD. :upsidedow
