Ok, tell me all about the dinner here. We are trying to decide if we want to do a character meal, and if we do, where. We had our 1st character meal at Chef Mickey's last June. So, that is an option again, as is LTT, or 1900. Is it going to take a lot of park time away since it's at the GF? I mean, we did have to leave MK to go to Chef Mickey's, but it didn't take any time to walk there. I know 1900 is a little more expensive than some of the others. Also my DM wants to meet the Fairy Godmother so badly! Is she other places besides 1900 in July? So, tell me all about it: is it great, does it take a lot of park time away? TIA!

We loved the character dinner here. I can't see how it would take much more park time than Chef Mickey did, since all you need to do it catch a water launch to GF, or ride the monorail. I think it would be well worth the time. We thought the food was great and our girls LOVED the characters. Good luck deciding, as I'm sure all of your options are great!!

Have you considered breakfast at Cindy's castle instead? You could schedule it before the park even opened and therefore, not lose any time. Disney makes no "guarantee" of any characters, but we've always seen the Fairy Godmother in the waiting area of Cindy's. I'm pretty sure that's where she stands at 1900 Park Faire also, in the alcove area to greet guests. I don't think she walks around from table to table.

As for how much time, the quickest way to the GF is the resort boat launch. It's located to the left of the resort monorail entrance. From the boat dock it's a few minutes to walk to the main building. Dining is buffet, so you can probably take as long or as little time as you'd like. Once dinner is over, go right upstairs to the monorail and the entrance to the MK is one stop away.

We ate at 1900 Park Fare last June and really enjoyed it. It probably took us about an hour and a half at this meal. The buffet had a good selection--the 5 cheese lasagna is awesome!!

You know I hate posts like this...

I know want to do this one too!! I do know that the boat launch from the MK to the GF is a nice ride, and then when you're finished you just hop back on the monorail and get back to the park quick. (if you were to take the monorail you'd make all the resort stops before getting to GF)

Take DM to see the Godmother absolutely! I know that I nearly fell over when I met Mary Poppins, and it was so embarrassing, but the CM with her said, "have your moment, its Disney World" So do take DM!!

1900 Park Fare is just the best. I have been to so many character meals and the breakfast here is wonderful. Dont miss it and especially the strawberry soup - yum!

Another vote for the breakfast(haven't had dinner there in many years). :earsboy:
