1900 Park Fare

We are eating here on my son's birthday for dinner. I was wondering what they can do to make it really special for him. This is our first trip to disney. I'm thinking about ordering him a special cake.

first off make sure you have it noted on all of your reservations(ie check in stuff) that you are there to celebrate his bday. if not staying on property, make sure it is noted on this dining ressie, and remind them when you check in. they may decorate the table with confetti etc, but theres no gaurantee.

call pat at the gf(check out the cake chatter thread) and order a special cake for him. this has been a hit and miss for many people tho. prices can be high- quality of cake not so great. pat can take awhile to get back to you. personally speaking i had no issues with her at all. my only issue was with the restaurant. i had one of those feelings before we even went so at check in at 1900 pf i asked at teh podium about our cake. we were dining at 515, they were going to serve it much later- like 3 hrs later. they got it to us for the rite time tho. and it tasted great adn looked even better.

another idea- make him a bday tshirt adn get him a bday hat- if he'll wear it.

oh! theres also a celebrating your bday at dw thread, i think on the community board. i dont know the link at the moment as im on my netbook and not my big old beast. a search should bring it up tho.

Thanks to you both for all the ideas. Where can I get the mickey hat with the ears that says its my birthday? We are staying inside Disney and I have already told the TA that it will be this birthday and she has told the hotel and 1900 PF. So I hope that do something nice for him.

when you check in, they should mention it is his bday during your stay- if they dont double check it is noted for him, they should have the happy birthday buttons there too, if not you can get them in any of the parks at guest relations.

let me check witha friend on fb- hes spent his sons last two bdays there and he has a mickey bday hat- not sure where they got it. but i'll check!

we were their for mine and our friends DD 4th birthday
we got placemats and a cupcake and they sang happy birthday
we went to wispering canyon too the day after and that was more fun they had our friends dd stand on a chair and the whole place sang her happy birthday and she got a cupcake with a candle too

np! i havent come across anything, but then i dont shop online. plus things cost a fortune to come up to canada. of you take a look at disneyworld.com you can seach for celbrations and i think about 6 pages of options comes up and i thinkone pic is of bday hats they sell, but it doenst have a link to buy- were celebrating ds's 3rd in april there.

one more thing theres also disneyflorist.com they will do in room celebrations- for a large fee! and you can get all sorts of things ordered to be sent to your room, baskets, balloons, stuffed mickeys etc. you could always call them about placing a basket order and see if they have a bday hat they can include. i know theyve added for some dis'er's and taken some things out before. cant hurt to try.

1900 Park Fare does a nice job with the birthdays...for DH's birthday last May, they brought the special Mickey cupcake (though that's total overkill since it's a buffett with lots of desserts, lol.) They also brought the autographed placemat (it's plastic-coated, so a "keeper") And of course, Cinderella, the Prince, and the steps all visit each table so you'll get to take photos with each character, too.

If you're staying at a Disney hotel, ask for the Birthday pin when you check in - they'll write his name on the pin with a sharpie and he'll hear "Happy Birthday" all day.

We ordered a birthday cake to come to our table at 1900 Park Faire. It was very good; we got a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. They bring it out on a placemat "signed" by several characters that they allow you to keep.
