1900 park fare - those who have been (and enjoyed it)

We really enjoyed the food here. I remember particularly liking the prime rib, the Caesar salad, and the pasta with meat sauce. And the strawberry soup. It's delicious.

1900 Park fare was on of my family's favorite meals. I enjoyed the salad bar (some of the best blue cheese dressing I ever had) and some really good sour dough rolls. I had the clam chowder (again very good). For my main dish I had some prime rib and roasted chicken. I also had some cajun style seafood and rice dish. All were excellent. The desserts were very good as well but I didn't care for the strawberry soup as much as I though I would. It was good but I think I just had higher expectations. It tasted like strawberry yogurt with the consistancy of melted ice cream. My DD9 loved it though.

We liked the prime rib and the desserts as well. The food was good but it is the character interaction that would bring me back! Lady Tremaine was incredible. Cinderella came over and asked my son to dance, but he was petrified and wouldn't do it. I still get a little heartsick at the thought. I mean can you imagine the scrapbook page I could have created? :sad2:

I have made the soup at home, and it was great, but not as good as the real thing:goodvibes

ITA I don't care if they only served paint chips for food. The characters are so great. Lady Tremaine did her routine and made the faces for all our pic and the stepsisters were beyond great. My DD was even scolded when she went to the bathroom and they had to come around again for pictures. It was great.

Thank you OP! This thread was exactly what I needed to get excited for our upcoming visit to 1900 for dinner! I had read so much about how great the character interaction was, but not enough about the food. It sounds like the buffet has all of my favorites plus this very fascinating strawberry soup! Can't wait to try it!

I loved all the teeny desserts on the dessert bar, the prime rib with horseradish sauce, and the Caesar salad. I ate so much prime rib and desserts I don't remember much else. :lovestruc

Yes those desserts were yummy!
I also liked the mashed potatoes, I think they had some sort of chicken that I really enjoyed (maybe Marsala or franchese?). IDK, we have eaten there twice and going back a third time in Aug. Fiance enjoyed Salmon both times, I am not a big fish eater, I usually try things, but it smelled really fishy to me so I had to pass.
I also liked this buffet b/c DD LOVES it, she likes everything on the kids buffet line.
