Please tell me about your experiences at the 1900 Park Fare dinner. I am thinking that it would be a nice dinner for our family - 2 adults, 3 boys ages 10, 9 & 7 (who love to eat buffets) and 2 girls ages 5 & 2(who love Cinderella).

Is there a happy Cinderella "special" feeling eating there? Is there Grand Floridian feeling while eating there? My 5 yr old DD thinks the GF is so fancy, I think she'd love to eat there.

I am looking at this for dinner since we probably will not be getting CRT for breakfast.

Thanks for your input.:D

It's actually a pretty good dinner buffet. Not the best food in the world, but certainly rather good, and a nice atmosphere. By far the best of the character dinners. I say go for it!

Bump -

I am considering doing 1900 Parik Fare instead of Chef Mickeys.
Any thoughts?

I would. I think Chef Mickey's is one of the worst and most overrated restaurants at WDW. Yuck!!

we are doing both over the 4th of july and Im looking forward to it. we havent eaten at 1900 park fare and hoping its a nice character meal. My daughter loves cinderella and is going to get all dressed up in her costume. I ordered the slipper for her and her little friend for dessert! we have done CM a few times over the years but only for breakfast and have always enjoyed the buffet and interaction with the characters. we are planning on having a dinner there in Dec so I cant comment on the food for that meal. Good luck making your decision

We ate at 1900 Park Fare earlier this month and really enjoyed it. The food was very good and there was a nice selection. Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother greeted guests in the waiting area while Suzy, Perla, Prince Ali and Cinderella made the rounds. It does take Cinderella a while to make all the tables--we had finished eating before she got there but it was pouring down rain outside so we didn't mind waiting. The other characters came around twice so we were never lacking for interaction from them. Have fun!!

We loved 1900 PF, but with your 3 boys I'd probably choose Chef Mickeys. The girls will love it too!!

Who is Prince Ali? I've seen a couple other posts that mention him, and I don't remember....

I really wanted to give 1900 a try this upcoming trip. But, I have worked and reworked my meal PS's around and it just is not possible this time.We have several "must-do's" and all the dinner slots are filled up.
I sure wish they served lunch, that would really help.

My big thing was to get to see the GF. Maybe we will resort hop for a look see anyway.

we had dinner there this past August & thought the food was excellent....There is a separate area at the buffet for the kids at their level.....the pasta made to order was soooo good.....a helpful hint for you.....we had the first seating at 5:00 & got there early.....they sat us right away & the characters had just come in, so they were very fresh....the food had just come out too....we sat at a table right by the door, so my dd6 could peek out the glass door & see the characters sitting in the front waiting area....overall a great experience.....have fun!

I have been twice to 1900 Park Fare. Once in 1996 and once again last year. It is a decent buffet but not really spectacular. The food is fine but there isn't really loads to choose from. There have been a couple items that were really good and some that were fine and a couple bland items. Nothing was bad but it doesn't compare to good buffets in Las Vegas or the likes. I found myself picking food up from the kids buffet too! The setting is really nice (though a bit loud) and pretty and the characters have been good and fun. I have not tried Chef Mickey's so can not compare.

we never ever miss eating here at 1900 park fair it is our tradition as is liberty tree. we love the food at both

I dined for dinner at both places during my last trip and was pretty disappointed with both.

The food was limited and just ok at the 1900. There are only about 3 or 4 characters there (Cindy, the Prince, Suzy the Mouse & the Fairy Godmother -- she sat outside taking pictures). :(

Chef Mickey's for dinner is the worst!! The food is awful :crazy2: and I found the service below standards. IMHO this was a complete waste of money.

If I were you, I would recommend any meal at the Crystal Palace. The food & service are great!!

We've had dinner at 1900 two times....both times, thought it was just so-so. Very nice atmosphere...character interaction okay....not terribly bad, or good. Food was just okay...really nothing special.
We have never tried Chef Mickey's for dinner....primarily because we've heard over and over that's it's simply not that good.
Having said that, we LOVE. LOVE, LOVE Chef Mickey's for breakfast.....and we like 1900 Park Fare for breakfast. Our family all agrees it is much, much better for breakfast than dinner.
Anyway......have fun,....and go with your gut feeling! You may love it for dinner!!!!

My 6 yr old DD and I tried Chef Mickey's for dinner this past April and LOVED it!!! The food certainly wasn't of the gourmet variety, but we liked it. My DD was very happy with the pizza and the ice cream sundae bar - a kid's dream! To be honest, I didn't go there for the food. Actually we hardly noticed the food (although I did enjoy a great Margarita)! I went for my DD and the fun, and boy did we have fun! All 7 characters stopped by our table, some twice, and they took their time, which thrilled my daughter! It was great to spend that time with them at Chef Mickey's, and then not worry about trying to meet them in the parks. We had a terrific server named Debbie, and she told us to take our time. We stayed for almost an hour and a half!
My DD is still talking about it, and she shows her Chef Mickey doll and pin to everyone. I have told her that we are going to try 1900 at the GF next April and the Crystal Palace, and she is excited, but she begged to go back to Chef Mickey's, too! She didn't need to...I already had it in our plans! The memory we made there that night was one that I'd relive over and over!::yes::

We've dined at Chef Mickey's for breakfast a few times and were very pleased.

Dinner was awful, but breakfast is very good.
