I know my son will love the characters at Liberty Tree Tavern, but I honestly can say that the menu didn't seem appealing to me, dh, or ds. Would we be better off with 1900 park fare?

Love the characters? When we went it was just the woodland friends of Pocahontas. The food was good there, but nothing great.

To me, neither was that great.

Try Crystal Palace. Godd buffet and Pooh parade.

The food is much much better at CGF! Does your son like Cinderella and Prince Charming? Then he will like it too! We were absolutely stuffed when we left dinner, I wouldn't recommend going on the teacups afterwords. :teeth:

I'm confused about the Pocahontas comment. When we ate at the Liberty Tree it was Minnie, Mickey, and Goofy. I think that poster is confused. :confused3

Yes, Liberty Tree is supposed to be Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. My son keeps telling me his friend is Minnie, but I think it is more important that we have a quick and enjoyable meal so I guess we will try 1900 Park Fare. Thanks for the tip on Crystal Palace--I already have a ressie here one night for dinner.

Not true. It's Goofy, Minnie, Pluto and Chip & Dale as of this past Friday night. :)

It is a good idea to review the menus before going---we love the food at LTT (and had another great meal there the other night!) but not everyone does.

Go for Liberty Tree!!! You will be glad you did!!!!!!!!! I would do 1900 Park Fare breakfast.

We always have a lot of fun at LTT. I think the characters give the kids a lot more attention there, playing games and fooling around with them. Minnie was even doing ballet with my 3yo! My girls love both places though, but at 1900 PF the characters don't seem to interact as much. I'm sure that is due to the size of the restaurant since they need to make their rounds. I'm not a great fan of buffets so their food doesn't thrill me. The food at LTT is OK to me but my oldest DD just loves it! I would choose based on the character experience you want.

The food was cold and balnd. Probley cold due to our horrid service. Pluto was fun, but the other characters rushed by. Poor DD didnt even remember meeting Minnie or Goofy (I had a picture to show her but it was fast!)

Maybe it was an off night, but the food just seemed to be heated and dumped onto a plate, There was no cooking involved!

1900 Park Fare Dinner was very good, And it is easier to intereact as Cindy is able to talk to the kids. We enjoyed the diff foods and DD loved the kids side of the buffet. :thumbsup2

IMO, the character meals are all about the same when it comes to food quality. Good food and filling, but nothing out of this world spectacular. You have a character meal to interact with chracters. So, I would make your choice based on which characters you want to see as opposed to the food reviews. We ate at both places on our trip in May.

Park Fare was good, but I wouldn't go back there unless I had a child who really wanted to meet Cinderella and CRT was not an option. The food was fine, particulary the salmon, it's just that there are so many other WDW places I want to try. If we couldn't get those, than I would be just fine doing Park Fare again. Suzy and Perla visited each table multiples times, but Cinderella and Prince Charming came by once. The character interaction was nice, but they're in such high demand that they can only come by once.

LTT was a lot of fun. The food there was good, basically Thanksgiving with roast beef and ham as well. We experienced excellent service. Our server was very quick to refill our drinks and bring us more food when we needed it as well as provide us with some cheese when we requested it. I'm more likely to eat here again, but that's mostly because I like the characters better. Food was about the same, though I liked LTT a bit more. Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip & Dale(Mickey is NOT at this meal) visited our table multiple times compared with one visit from Cinderella and one from Prince Charming. They were lots of fun and played around with us a lot more than the characters did at Park Fare.

It's quite simple, as a Princess and Prince, Cinderella and Prince Charming must always be the royals that they are. On the other hand, Goofy & friends can play around a lot more because they don't have to worry about acting in an unregal manner. And Chip & Dale are great fun. They goof off so much, and are especially fun if you give them some peanuts. I think they visited us even more than the other characters did. I think I'll probably have to schedule one character meal per visit where they attend.

We loved LTT for dinner...great fun. The food was fine, all things considered, but the atmosphere and character interaction were great...DS loved it.

We're doing both this time, but we like LTT b/c it is family style, that means they bring it to you and you aren't up at the buffet a thousand times.

ABSOLUTELY!!! It makes for such a nicer meal to not have to get up every few minutes.

Everyone has their list of favorites and LTT tops my families' list. So much so, that I tried to leave it off our dining plan for our May trip and they begged me to get rid of something and put LTT In it's place. Our food has always been served warm and the servers make sure we have more if desired. The characters have always stopped by frequently to visit and joke with the boys. I'm sure we'll be going there again next year! :thumbsup2
