1900 Park Fare or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall

We love Akershus. My kids are 22, 17 and 13 and it was on their list of restuarants to go back to. We have not been to 1900 but do have reservations for Jan 1. Have a great trip!

Arkershus! I just ate at both in the last 8 days and 1900 Park Fare does not hold a candle to Akershus!

Have never been to Park Fare, but Akershus ROX!!!!! Most amazing breakfast of the week, hands down!!!!

Been to both.

Just went to 1900 for 4th time a few weeks ago and won't be going back. (I couldn't get in to Akershus this trip). The only plus was we were seated within a couple minutes of check in. The food was unappealing and the service was minimal. We waited FOREVER for the characters. The folks next to us as well were long past dessert and waiting forever for the group to get to us. The server didn't even keep our drinks filled while we waited. The worst was the incredible noise level in there. We were so excited to go but very let down.

Akerhus is fairly quiet, unrushed and we had wonderful service. We went for breakfast and the food was fine. The only downside there was the long wait to be seated. But it was worth it.

PS OP, I see in your name autism so I will make the assumption you are taking someone with it. My DS has Down Syndrome with some autism like behavior. The noise level at 1900 was very difficult for him. He had in ear plugs but was still very overwhelmed by it. This has been the last 3 times, so I think now we need to avoid it.

we are doing both. LOL

1900 Park fare was awesome last time, looking forward to it for our arrival dinner again this time.

Akershus will be our second last full day's breakfast.

looking forward to that too!

We LOVE Akershus, that has become our family tradition, since we always go to Epcot on our first full day, we always make a early ADR for breakfast there (before park opens). The food is absolutely wonderful and the princess interaction is priceless. My DD8 is not so much into princesses anymore but she just loves this meal (her favorite princess of all time is there, Jasmine). As for 1900 Park Fare, we are going there for Dinner for the first time and are really excited about it. This is going to be our arrival dinner...a good way to kick off our vacation. My DD6 doesn't remember meeting Cinderella (last time she met her, she was 2) so we booked this mainly for her, plus we just love talking with the stepfamily....they are HILARIOUS!!!! Plus I have heard the buffet is very good and the desserts are wonderful.

We have been to both a few times and they are completely different experiences. So it really depends on what your are looking for.

We loved 1900 we ate there for breakfast and dinner.

1900 Breakfast: we saw Alice, Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Tigger, and Pooh. The food was the best breakfast buffet we have had at Disney. Wonderful variety and high quality.

1900 Dinner: we saw Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremain, Drizella, and Anastasia. The royal family is an absolute hoot! We had a ball and laughed our heads off! The food was good, the coq au vin, was the best I have ever had.

Alkershus Breakfast: we've seen a few different princess combinations here Ariel, Belle, Snow White, Pocahontus, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, even Mulan the only princess we have not seen there is Cinderella. The food is good.

Alkershus Lunch: same princesses as above, but we did not care for the food. The only good food at the meal was the cold appetizer selections. Some of my family didn't eat their food at all. The desserts were bad also.

If you are looking for a straight up princess meal, breakfast at Alkershus is a good choice. If you are looking for an entertaining character meal then 1900 for dinner is a good choice.

1900!!! Hands down favorite character meal. We were there Thanksgiving night last year. Food was great. Character interaction was aboslutely fantastic. We had sooom much fun!!! Akershus was just OK. We did a lunch there and the food was ok, not great but not bad either. it was nice to get to see the princesses, but that was it. Just see them and move on. We enjoyed the banter with the stepsisters at 1900 much more, and Cindy and the prince were particularly charming. My DD got picked to dance wtih Cindy, and it was all in all just a special experience.

Reading through these "This or That" posts, it's pretty interesting to see the varouis takes on the places.

For us, we went to Akershus on 9/23 and 1900PF on 9/24, both breakfasts.
Akershus was amazing, the food quality was excellent, service was right there, and even the wait to get in (after we waited until we could check in... we got there a bit early) was great. The princesses all took time for our little princess and it was just a great experience.

1900PF, not so much. While I won't trash it (especially since my mom's friend works there), I will say it was a bit of a disappointment. The food was only so so (and a lot of it cold, at 8:45am) and most of the characters were pretty rushed. The service was good though, I will give our server credit there, but overall it was a let down.

Now, that's just our two breakfasts. I do know that other meals (and quite often, other cooks/servers) make a huge difference, so I would consider going back to 1900PF for Dinner (and Aker for anything really, though breakfast seems to get the better mentions around these parts :p).

Not a big fan of the food for breakfast or dinner at Akershus, but we loved dinner at 1900 Park Fare.

Caracters were great at both.

1900 park fair is what i would pick its a buffet and some characters from Cinderella come around like prince charming, the stepmother and stepsisters and of course cinderella.:stir::disrocks:

We LOVED the breakfast at Norway. We were not a big fan of 1900 Park Fare, for dinner at least. Thought 1099 PF was noisy and the foor was ok. We were seated right where the Princesses came out at Akershus, thought that the food was good. Definately a must do for our next trip.
