My 11 year old niece would like to eat breakfast in the castle. But we are going Dec 6th to the 13th and they are book. She has never been so I was thinking of 1900 for dinner. Will she like it?
Thanks
Tina
I was recently there, I think the breakfast there is great. I thought the dinner
was not so great in my opinion. My family did not really like the food selections it was broken down to different sections which surprised me, I was excited it sounded good too me. When I when up to the buffet I was not impressed. They had an Italian, French, and Asian section( it sounds good but it wasn't). I don't know if your familiar with Tony and Tina's Wedding from Broadway. It seemed very much like that. The characters yelled across the room to each other, the step mother is really into character very mean and made my 4 yr cry. The step sister were funny but sort of obnoxious. As an adult I found humor in it but my 2 kids 8yr and 4 yr did not like it. But that's just my opinion. It was the only Disney restaurant I was disappointed in ever.
Contrary to the PP, I thought the food was great! It was a little different how it was set up but the food was excellent, I did not try the Asian though. The by the time I got there the other selections just looked more to my liking. In fact it was probably the best buffet of the trip last year.
As far as the characters, Step-mother is wicked and step sisters are truly obnoxious where ever you find them. I was amazed at the similiarities in guestures. There must more intensive training in these roles. I actually got sick of them! We must have run into them 5 times the last trip. The highlight @ 1900 was my DD5 got to dance with Prince Charming, she developed a serious crush on him! If you make the first ADR time for dinner you get the see the introductions which is pretty neat. During my visit the characters did not yell across the room....maybe they got in trouble for that! If that happened during my meal I would be disappointed too.
My only disappointment about 1900 Park Fare was the CM that booked my ADR told me the dinner was Mary Poppins, Alice, MAd Hatter, etc and not Cinderella's Royal Gala Feast. We already had 1 princess meal and thought it was overkill. But DD5 did not seem to mind!
We ate there last week for dinner with girls - 14, 12, 3 and a 1 yr old boy. My older girls did not care about the characters much so I think your 11 yr old may be above the excitment of meeting the characters. I think we all thought it was entertaining. We warned before going in that the step sisters and step mother could be obnoxious but it was all in good fun.
As far as the food, we all gave it a thumbs up and I think much better than Crystal Palace at MK. Make sure you check out both sides of the buffet since unlike other places it varies on each side (kids selections too). The desserts were very good. I would go there again.
I think as the poster mentioned above about Mary Poppins and Alice, they are there for breakfast.
Can anyone tell me if the prince is there for the dinner?
My 4 yr old has recently declared that princesses are "Yucky" (Good luck with that pal.. Disney is teeming with them )
So I am kind of hoping there will a prince there to ease his disgust
