I am looking for a restaurant for dinner on one of our Magic Kingdom days. I know 1900 Park Fare is not at Magic Kingdom but it is fairly close. Does anyone have any thoughts about the dinner at 1900 Park Fare? The reviews on All Ears are not great! I do know that it is a character dinner, but I am wanting to know about the food for dinner. If 1900 Park Fare is not a good choice, do you have any other top choices for dinners in or around Magic Kingdom? Thanks for any advice you can impart!

I've found the food at 1900 to be very hit or miss - some trips it's been good, others just meh. Like any of the character buffets and dining experiences, you really are paying to see them.

I find Kona and 'Ohana over at the Poly to be much better for dinner. Neither are character dining, but the food is great and it's just as easy to get to as the Grand Floridian.

We've gone twice, both times it was the best character meal (and this last time the best meal of the whole trip). It's definitely our favorite and a must do each time.

As with all character buffets it's not going to be anything special.

Are you looking for fancy?

Within or a monorail away mk would be
California Grill
Ohana
Be our guest
Narcoossees
Victoria and alberts
Liberty Tree Tavern

1900 is great! Beyond the characters, I thought the buffet was fresh and delicious. I really liked the mojo pork and the strawberry soup! There was something else that was great, but I can't remember now what it was.

We love 1900 Park Fare. Not only is the Grand Floridian beautiful, but the restaurant is so pretty! the character interaction is fun and the buffet is great! We have eaten there many times and will be doing so again on our trip in a couple weeks!

We did not like it at all. Maybe it was an off night for them? We did not like the food, our wait staff was very much lacking and not nice. Only time I ever had happen at Disney :(
They were the only restaurant that did not have my allergy noted.
Also, maybe because the room is contained but there was an odor of vomit when we were there!

Food is good....character interaction is AWESOME.....and its a monorail ride away......try it!!!

Tried it for the first time last summer, food was good, went up for seconds...best character interaction hands down
Doing it again this summer because we liked it so much

It was the worst tasting meal of our entire trip. The character interaction was wonderful though.
If DD didn't want to meet those characters so much, we would have done something else.

Hubby and I both thought the food was ok, but the character interaction was incredible! It never felt rushed and they all took the time to talk to our girls. The wicked step-sisters were hilarious. We're going to try the breakfast next time for my Alice in wonderland loving daughter.

As is the case with a lot of the character buffets, the food tends to be hit and miss. Some nights it's really great and some nights it's just not, as you can tell from the wide range of responses here. Two things I've found to be incredibly consistent about 1900 Park Fare:

1 - by far the best character experience of any character meal. The characters really take their time with each diner, and go out of their way to make you feel like you're getting your money's worth, regardless of if you like the food or not. Last time I was there, Lady Tremaine actually sat down at my table and we had an entire conversation during which she tried to vet my worthiness to marry one of her daughters (as it turns out, I needed to own three castles to live up to her standards).

2 - no matter the quality level of the adult buffet choices, the kids section is always in the "pretty good" range. Sure, it can seem a bit silly getting chicken nuggets and mac & cheese when you've paid so much for dinner, but if the chicken is dry, or the mashed potatoes are too lumpy, or the peel-n-eat shrimp look like something that came from the 23rd hour of a 24-hour Las Vegas buffet, you can always fall back on those kids options (one of which at 1900 Park Fare is a taco bar, which just seems mean to limit to "kids").

We liked our 1900 Park Fare dinner. The food was just ok (we loved the strawberry soup though!) but the character interaction was awesome and definitely worth going for. The Tremaines are hilarious!

We have always enjoyed the food at 1900 Park Fare for dinner and character interaction is the best. I've never understood all the negative comments about the food...maybe because we tend to book earlier ADR's (before 6PM?) and the food is fresher? or we've just been lucky every time we went? Or it's just a matter of taste? I do wonder how many people know that the food on the 2 sides of the buffet are different. Most of the Disney buffets have the same food on both sides, but it is different food on each side here. I love the mini desserts too!

WE like it but we choose it for the characters. WHy are you looking at this restaurant? If it is the food, you might do better elsewhere for less money. If it is for the characters, the interaction has always been really good.

If you want a buffet and are not interested in characters I always read good reviews about Trails End in Fort Wilderness. It is less expensive than 1900 PF and is a lovely boat ride away from the MK.

We were there on Sunday 6/4. Food was LESS than meh. I would skip. FYI, we ate at the Skipper Canteen in MK - best food of our trip IMO.
