We are wanting to try something new and are considering booking dinner at 1900 Park Fare. But, our son will be 12 and I don't know how out of place he will feel. He doesn't mind character meals. He is a fairly picky eater and doesn't like anything with sauces or spicy foods.

Just wondering if any of you could offer your opinions on the dinner at 1900 Park Fare. If you have pics to share, that would be awesome too!

We enjoy it because the buffet has many types of food I think they called it an international buffett. Really something for everyone. To be honest, there was less banter between the sisters and no Evil step mother this trip (Oct). The characters also moved quite quickly. If this will be a first try I suggest giving it a go as the food was good, but it was crossed off our list for next year.

We went this trip (DH, teenage DS, and myself). It was our first time at 1900 Park Fare and our dinner was absolutely delightful in every way! The characters were awesome, but not overbearing! I made DS take photos with each character! :rotfl: The stepsisters were so cute! :goodvibes DS was not mortified to eat there. The food was a wonderful mixture... there is something for everyone! The strawberry soup was so good... our waiter overheard me telling DS & DH how delicious it was and came back with a cute little printout recipe for it! :goodvibes There were several all adult couples/groups eating there as well. We decided to dine there every time we visit WDW from now on! We ate at a lot of wonderul places our last two visits to WDW (character and non character) and it is hands down our favorite character dinner and is only second (overall) to Le Cellier!

I ate there over the summer, and it was so much fun! Me and my friend had a blast! I would definitely eat there again. here are some pictures:

Too cute!

My DH and I went this past October. Yes, we are two "big kids". We loved it. All the food was very good and we both lenjoyed the prime rib. Realy nice selection on the buffet (even had ceasar salad) and, we had to try the strawberry soup. They even had soft serve ice cream for sundaes. I asked for a rendition of Nightingale which was hysterical. When you go to a character meal you expect it to be loud but it really was not that bad.

We loved it ourselves. My DDs asked Anastacia to sing Nightengale, she invited them to sing along. Once she (Anastacia) started screeching all my girls could do was stare at her laughing. The women they cast for these characters were wonderful.

For us the food was really good too. There was a good variety, and everything was hot & flavorful.

This was my favorite meal the whole trip. My DH put it down as a "have to" for our next trip as well.

since you're in that area, maybe take him to the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Their skillet dish looks amazing: ribs, shrimp, mashed potatoes, pulled pork, chicken, beans, corn on the cob. i cant wait to eat there, sounds great. We couldnt get 1900 for dinner, but their menu didnt sound too appealing.

We loved it when it was Cinderella, Prince, Fairy Godmother and the mice.

But we LOVE LOVE LOVE it with the stepsisters and Lady Tremaine! It is on our must-do list!

OMG Lady Tremaine and the Step Sisters were such a hoot. Some poor person dropped a plate at the buffet and you heard this LOUD Cinderella....Cinderella get in there and clean that mess up right now coming from all the way across the dining hall. It was so funny. The food was good too I loved the ceasar salad and the asparagus soup and the prime rib was wonderful. I highly recommend it.:thumbsup2

We went Dec 7th and honestly did not like it at all. The food choices may be diverse but not at all to our liking. They just didn't seem to mix well. There were limited kids choices for the girls and they didn't eat much at all. The characters were okay but very busy. I wonder if the buffet was different - I was expecting Prime Rib but they only had roast pork and simple roast beef. The meat was good but the sides - not so much. Also the entertainment is very much dependent on the meal and where you are seated. There are some areas that are off in the hall or corners that you can only see the dancing and activity from a distance. The dinner may be worth a try and if your expectations are moderated - it should be okay.

We loved 1900! It was our first character meal and it did not disappoint! We ate there in January. The food was great and the characters were better for both our DS and DD. We are going back in May and will be at 1900 again!

We were there last month - 2 adults and 4 girls ages 19, 14, 12 and 9. Everyone enjoyed the food - there were a variety of choices, so something for everyone. The kids especially liked the dessert choices. The character interaction was great, even though we weren't in the main room. We probably won't do it again (we generally only do a character meal once), but we greatly enjoyed the whole experience.

My DD (4), DH, and I visited 1900 in early June 08. The food was not our favorite (my least favorite actually) but the characters were our favorite. We would go back just for the step-sisters and step-mother. Our pics look like those posted above. Watching Cinderella and Prince Charming dance was a lot of fun.

LOL you live in bayou land , how did your DS miss out on being a spice loving boy?

We ate there last month and we loved it! The characters and the food were both great. We weren't sure at first with 3 boys, but they all enjoyed it and it was great meeting a Prince for the first time. ;)

Good to hear that your boys liked it! I have 3 boys too, and we are eating here during our March trip.

1900 is anything but spicy.
We tried it this summer and found the food pretty bland and average.
They did have pizza( think), spagetti and a few common foods that should suit any picky eater.
