1900 Park Fare Cindy's Gala Feast

Thinking of trying 1900 Park Fare for diner.

What is it like? Food/Show? Table/Seating? View/Decore?

Is there a best time to go? or is Cinderella there every hour?

I was thinking 6:00ish

I've seen two Cinderella's I wonder how many they have?

Do they need a credit card when you book the ADR? Do they just take the number and hold, incase you don't show? Or do they chage total amount ahead of time? (I'll be on the meal plan)

The food is very good. It is a buffet and has a lot of choices. Cinderella, Prince Charming and the mice circulate in the restaurant on an ongoing basis. The decor is victorian with carrousel horses and such. No credit card or deposit needed for this one and it is covered on the dining plan as one TS credit. I think you will enjoy it.

By the way, there is only one Cinderella, you must have seen an imposter!

We were not pleased with the selection of food, but we were very pleased with the interaction of the characters, and the atmosphere was fairly festive. The highlight of MY meal there was when Prince Charming said hello to my 13yo daughter!! She's pretty shy, and he' pretty handsome...she was PURPLE when he left!! She didn't appreciate that Dad and Mom were laughing themselves silly at her expense! We also sat in between 2 families who were having as much fun as we were. On the one side, the little girl talked to EVERY character and was so cute. ON the other side was a family (including grandparents) who kept spilling their glasses, and I think perhaps the dad was feeling a bit "relaxed". We enjoyed the party atmosphere of it, but we didn't enjoy the food. It was not worth a Table Service credit to me.

We have been there for dinner in July 2003 and May 2005. I do recommend it. The food was unremarkable -- I mean not so good as to be remembered, not so bad as to be memorable. The restaurant is nice looking. Our first time there we arrived at 5:00pm for a 5:45 seating (because we didn't realize how close it was to MK) They seated us immediately. Thank goodess. When we left it was a zoo!! So the next visit I booked the earliest seating and I noticed how crazy it was as we left. I would definitely suggest booking an early dinner.

Both times there was no show. However, the 2nd time we were there before it opened and the FGM did a little wave of the wand and some confetti to open the doors. She greated guests in the lobby. Cinderella, Prince and the mice each stopped by the table(separately). They were very good at speaking with my DD5 and staying away from DS2 who was pointing at them and saying No No No. The blue mouse came back to our table, snuck up behind him and posed without him knowing. There was plenty of time with the characters and we were not waiting long to meet with them -- but I am sure this was because we were there early.

We saw the same Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare both times, different prince. The Cinderella is excellent. When we went to the Princess meal at Epcot last year, the Cinderella was such a bad likeness that my daughter announced that Cinderella must have helpers like Santa does. (But the Mulan she met in China was definitely the real one!!)

We loved this buffet, it is the only buffet Dh wants to go back to and oddly the one he was dreading the most before we went. All he heard when I told him about it must have been that Cinderella and the mice would be there. He loved it! He devoured the mussels, had prime rib, pork tenderloin, shrimp, and countless other things. I just loved the strawberry soup, the pork and prime rib, and the desserts. DD loved having her own little kids buffet. It was a good use of a TS for us on the dining plan and we ate at 6:30 on a Sat night. It was a full house but not chaos, short buffet lines.

I'm 90% ready to book Cindy's Park Fare but one last question for anyone who's done both? How about Chef Mickey's?

I'm thinking Cindy is better for my wife since she had so much fun at CRT last trip. But how does this dinner stack up against Chef Mickey for someone who hasn't done either?

( We did CRT last trip and are doing Crystal Palace this trip plus I have room for one more dinner)

We did both last time. We really enjoyed the atmosphere of Park Fare more than we did Chef Mickey's. We felt like Chef Mickey's had a better (or broader) selection of food, and the characters were sillier. The characters at Park Fare were also very good, but they were a bit more serious...but the overall atmosphere was better at Park Fare.

Even though my DD'S are not that into Cindy, I love the Grand Floridian and any excuse to go there is great. I thought the food was divine. One of the best Character buffets Disney offers.
