I'm going in November with my grandmother. I'm 25 and she is, well....I'm not allowed to say.

We'd like to do a buffet/character breakfast one morning. We will be going to Epcot that day and are in no rush to make RD. The place has to be in Epcot or at a resort. We went to Cape May and 'Ohana last year and would like to try something different, so that leave us with:
1900 Park Fare
Chef Mickey's
or Akershus

We don't have a preference for the characters. I've heard that Chef Mickey's is extremely loud and raucous. Which one of the 3 do you think will be the lowest volume level? And which one has the best food?

Thanks!

I bet she would like Akershus. We went for the first time last year and loved it. I thought it was a little quieter (than Chef Mickey's)... The princess are really sweet... I think it would be a perfect place to take her.

How sweet you are going with her! :cutie:

Since you are planning on going to Epcot anyway, I would definitely suggest Akershus in Norway. Akershus is our favorite character breakfast and is a must do for us. The food is always hot and fresh, plus the cheesy potatoes are awesome . The princesses are also great, they really like to interact with the guests. Try to make an ADR before the park opens (if you are going on a non EMH day), then you will be able to get really great pictures of Epcot with hardly any people in it....awesome. As for the others, we have only been to CM for dinner and we are trying out 1900 breakfast on our upcoming trip. Have fun and enjoy :goodvibes

I have only done Akershus for lunch so I can't comment on the breakfast food. However, the princess interaction was much better there than at CRT. The buffet spread at 1900 is decent and has more of a variety of characters (Mary Poppins, the Mad Hatter, Alice, Tigger and Pooh). We find that breakfast is pretty similar everywhere you go in WDW, maybe 1 or 2 things differ from place to place.

If you are looking for more of a family style meal (food is brought to your table) or a princess oriented meal then go with Akershus. If you are looking for more buffet style (get your own food) or more of a variety of characters then go with 1900.

We've done all three and based upon your plan to be at Epcot that day I vote for Akershus. We really enjoyed the breakfast (dh loves the cheesy potatoes) and the character interaction was first rate. Dd and I have also done lunch there. While the character interaction was was still great, I didn't enjoy the food at lunch as much as breakfast.

I should add that these three character meals are our favorites! I think I would rate Chef Mickey's (B or D) and 1900 Park Fare (D) in first place with B at 1900 PF and Akershus a close second! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've got an ADR for Akershus at 8:15am! The location won out mostly, but I'm kind of excited about the princesses. :rotfl: I haven't had a meal with them in 18 years!
My grandma told me she had a dream that we had Vikings for servers at a restaurant at Disney.....so it must be a sign I picked the right place!
