1900 Park Fare breakfast

Which characters have been there recently and who are normally there? I know characters can change....but would we likely see Pooh? Tigger? I know Mary Poppins, Alice and Mad Hatter.....who else?

I don't think I have ever seen her in her work clothes. That would be cool to see. That is the Mary Poppins in my head.

Mine as well! She used to sit just outside the entrance to 1900 PF and she was the highlight of that meal, IMO.

I so want to do this when we visit in January too! Mary Poppins is one of our FAVORITE movies - my daughter would LOVE to meet Mary Poppins! How do you get there? We'll be staying at AKL...am a little curious if we'll be able to manage it via bus or if we'll have to taxi that morning.

We took a bus to Magic Kingdom and got on the resort monorail to Grand Floridian. You then go into the main building from there and the restaurant is down the stairs off the main lobby. Pretty easy. You could also take a taxi or uber.

I am contemplating this as a meal on an upcoming trip! Anyone here who has been.... What do you think of the food for breakfast? It seems to be one of th better options for a character breakfast food wise!

I really enjoy the food. It isn't as big of a buffet as some of the others (Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, etc) but it has some unique offerings -- yummy strawberry soup!!

It is our favorite breakfast and we do it every trip. We've even contemplated doing it multiple times our next trip....we LOVE the food and the characters/interaction. We go every trip. We seem to get seated at the same table each time (probably has to do with ADR time). On one trip, the mad hatter even asked DS if he'd been there before because he was sure he remembered him. We'd been there about 10 months prior. (But DS has a great personality and makes himself known wherever he goes.) This just verified 1900 Park Fare bfast being our favorite.

DH and I were there once,two years ago. We ended up being seated in this tiny area,between two dining rooms,like a walk through area. I thought,for sure,no one is coming in here. But oh boy, the characters came in there...and each stayed awhile.Pooh and Tigger first. Then Mad Hatter,who has a great personality and Alice,who does seem exactly like you think Alice should be,but,oh my goodness,Mary Poppins!!! I've only seen her outside the British building at Epcot, in the Photopass area and the lines were always so long. So it was a personal thrill to have her come over to our table! She wore the white dress with big hat and red accents,carting a white parasol,exactly how she looks at Epcot. I took so many pictures. Although in my 60's, I was immediately turned into a child when she walked over to
our table. I must have apologized so much for my gushing over her,but she was so sweet and patient. If there was just her and that great Strawberry Soup and nothing else there,I'd still go back! But maybe next time,I 'lol ask for a table in the main area, so I could also see that big pipe organ too that made the room famous.

This is probably one of the best character breakfasts around. 2/3 of the characters are 'human'--Mary, Alice, and the Mad Hatter, thus they will freely talk and interact with the kids. Nothing wrong with the costumed characters and the silent interaction, but we've had some very funny interactions with the Mad Hatter in particular. One year, our autistic son had a book on the table. The Mad Hatter picked it up and started flipping through it. He asked my son what page he was on, and he replied. He then asked him what the book was about. Not really wanting to talk in-depth, my son replied to the effect of "I don't know". The Mad Hatter went on about how he was on page 167 but didn't know what the book was about? We were all laughing hysterically, including my son.

As for the food, I think it is on-par with O'hana's breakfast, but being a buffet it is a greater selection and you don't have to worry about the kitchen being slow to bring the family-style platter to your table.

I know different performers do the different characters on different days, but when we ate there last November, the characters were very lackluster. Mad Hatter had tons of personality, but the others had none. Mary and Alice barely leaned in and posed for a picture before moving on. I was disappointed.
