Has anyone noticed a decline in food, entertainment, etc. at the 8:30 pm seating? I would like to watch SpectroMagic before dinner, so I would need to book the last reservation of the day. At some restaurants this could be a bad decision, does it matter at Disney?

We were there last Saturday for a 7:15 ADR. We were not seated, however, until after 7:30pm. The only thing I can say is that it was WILD! We were even seated in a smaller, off-to-the-side room from the main dining area.

I found the food to be below average. We ate at Boma, Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace which are also buffets and 1900 Park Fare was not as good as the others. I don't think I will go back there for a long time.

You were lucky. When we went in May, we had a 6:15 ADR, got there 30 minutes early, and did not get seated until about 7:15. For us, 1900 Park Fare food was okay- we thought it was much better than Chef Mickey's (which was bad), but not nearly as good as Crystal Palace. As far as having the last seating, I don't know about the food on the buffet or about how late you might wind up getting seated, but I know that were in the last lunch seating at CRT and as far as the characters go, it worked out well. Because the tables were clearing out and the characters were on their last round and only had a few tables left, they seemed to spend a little more time with DD than we experienced at other character meals. When Aurora was the 1st character completely finished and was leaving the room, the waiter specifically came to our table to make sure that she had not missed us before she left.

When my SIL called a few weeks ago for a reservation the CM told her the characters would be gone by 8:30 no matter when you were seated. So, if you got to see them yeah, if not oh well.

We had an 8:15pm ressie last year...Lady Tremaine, the step-sisters, and Prince Charming all came around relatively quickly, but we had to ask our server 3 times to send Cinderella over. They did one dance with the step-sisters and one dance with Cinderella/Prince Charming, and that was it. It was nice enough, the food was decent but not great, but we aren't going to do that same meal again this year...maybe my expectations were too high, or maybe it was that it was so late, but for me personally, it was my least fav of all the character meals we did. (We did 1900 PF, Akershaus Lunch, and Cape May bfast)

same exact as us. we DID see prince charming 6 months later in a parade.. my DD4 immediately recognized him

I'm going to move this over to our restaurant board.
