I am thinking about getting a 10:30am reservation for 1900 Park Fare, but was wondering since the meal goes from 8am-11:30pm, if the service or characters would be rushed due to it being the last hour of the meal. Anyone ever had a late reservation there? What was your experience? Thanks.

My response:

Actually it WILL be different from an 8am ressie: you'll have LOTS more time with the characters! We are big fans of the late breakfast ressie. You won't be rushed out, and there will be plenty of food and character interaction. The first time we ever did Chef Mickey's, DS was 18 mos and terrified of the characters. We had a late PS, and it ended up being just us and one other family in there. By the time we left, DS was in love with ALL the characters, and DH and I were in love with Minnie, because of the lengths she went to in getting our son to warm up to her. After he was "okay" with her, she would go get another character (Pluto, Mickey, etc) and bring them over to DS so he could see that they were just as friendly as she was. Ever since then, DS has loved any and all characters. But DH and I retain a special place in our hearts for Minnie!

Another late breakfast experience: 1900 Park Fare, September 2004. We had one of the latest PSs on a Saturday morning. Characters were Pooh, Tigger, Alice, Mary Poppins and Bert (all circulating in the restaurant). We got TONS of character time with them all. But at one point, Mary Poppins actually sat down at our table and talked with us for about 15 minutes. A few minutes later, Alice came by and sat with us, too. Then all the characters disappeared with the handler (we thought they were gone for good), and Bert and Mary came back out with pixie dust, which they sprinkled in DS' hair. We talked to them for another 15 minutes or so, with no one else in the restaurant!

We almost always do a late ressie, particularly at a resort restaurant, on our last day. We have never been rushed (might be different if you were at CP, which DOES serve lunch), or felt like anyone wanted us to leave. In fact, on another trip to 1900 PF, it happened to be DS' birthday. Not only did we get lots of character interaction, but our server was offering us to go boxes from the buffet, and when we declined that, she offered DS fruit, muffins, pastries, etc, to take with us in the car!

Both of those were responses I made on another thread. We have now had 5 "late" breakfasts at 1900 Park Fare. Despite bad service (our server stunk!!) on our last trip, it remains our favorite character meal!!

We chose this time for our trip in april. We have 3 teen ds and they really arent interested in the characters but of course I just had to see Mary Poppins. It was really uncrowded and the characters talked to my ds alot, o.k. they did pose for l picture each. THe food was hot and fresh and our server was very attentive and talkative to us. It was really unrushed and relaxed. I used this on our last day since we werent doing a park and it was more like a brunch until we got home from the plane.

DD and I went to Cape May around 10:15 in early December. It was great. Plenty of food and we were the last few people left. We were able to see Goofy, Minnie, Chip AND Dale twice each! (normally they guarantee Chip OR Dale now). The guy who walks around with them took photos of us, it was like "special" treatment.
