I have 185 points available beginning December 1, 2003. I will rent them for $9/point.
Basic info:
I will want to rent all (or nearly all) of the points in one transaction. This site has an excellent calculator for figuring out how much each type of room costs for each season.
I will make the reservation in your name and will send you the original confirmation from DVC. Once this is done I will ask for a $100 deposit. If you need to cancel, I will return the deposit unless I am put in a position where it will be difficult to re-rent or use the points (unlikely, but I want to be up front).
The entire balance needs to be paid 60 days prior to your reservation date (the worst case scenario for a DVC owner is a cancellation less than 30 days prior to the reservation - it becomes very hard to use the points). I need a little extra time to make sure the check clears.
I've done this twice now, and it has gone smoothly for me and for the renters. I will request the type of view you want, but understand that room assignments are not made until check-in.
