Ok, so I know I'm still a few months away from being able to make my ADRs but all of you will understand the importance of planning way ahead!

I am staying at a DVC resort with points rented from a member....does this qualify me to make my ADRs at the 180 + 10 date? If so, does that mean 190 days from the first day I check in?

Thanks!

the "+10" means that 180 days prior to an onsite hotel check-in that you can make reservations for check-in day and beyond up to 10 days. For those staying off property, they have to call 180 days prior to each day of their vacation. So if an offsite guest is staying for 4 days, they would need to call for 4 straight days one by one, and an on onsite guest staying for 4 days would call one time and make all of their reservations at the same time.

I assume that since you are DVC, you can get the 180+10, but hopefully someone else can confirm.

Yes, you are able to make your ADR's and use the +10 benefit. You will need your resort confirmation number to do so.
But it is NOT 190 days in advance.
On exactly 180 days from your check in date you can make your ADR's for that date and the next 10 days. If you were not staying in a Disney Resort you would have to make the ADR every day, as that day reached the 180 day point.
So you have a 10 day advantage over guests not staying on site. But it is at 180 days and then the next 10 days.

Also. the DVC reservation should be in your name so that the DVC reservation number will be connected with your last name. I guess you could also have the DVC member make the ADRs, but that could be a lot to put on him or her. When I've rented points, there was a point in the contract about when the DVC room reservation would go to my name, but it was way inside the 180-day mark.

I would talk to the DVC member from whom you're renting points about when the reservation will end up in your name, or if he or she would be willing to make the ADRs for you at the appropriate time.
