180 day mark today and i'm disappointed....

Today was my 180 day and after a busy weekend and fighting a terrible cold for a week I opted not to get up early to make ADR's. Instead I called in when I got to work since the site doesn't work for me here at work.

I was able to get just about everything I wanted except for a 10:30 breakfast at CP. The latest she had was 9:55 and I wanted a 6:00 or 6:30 Sci Fi and had to take 7:05. But I'm betting if I keep trying I can get those in time.

I was able to get a 5:00 Ohana which is perfect and a 7:00 LeCellier.

I'll probably make lots of changes over the next 6 months though, I usually do.

The CM told me that people will book certain restaurants as many times as they can for breakfast or dinner until they decide which day they want to go then, as time gets nearer, they will cancel the ones they don't want.

I would never do this. It's sooooo wrong.;););)

I had some luck with online this morning. I couldn't get BOG, but I did get all the other restaurants I want. I couldn't get the times I wanted, but thankfully, when I called an hour later, the rep was able to get me all the times I needed. So happy for that, especially that I got Ohana and an 8:10 for Crystal Palace. Would love to try and get BOG.

Was on-line at 3:00am (ouch) CA time, and even with some problems on the website ended up getting, basically, every reservation on the time and date we wanted. Made 13 reservations, took about 1 1/2 hours because of a lot of problems...had to keep logging in, not recognizing the + 10 part of the thing... but eventually got it in. Even getting to have dinner at BOG for the first time, and on the date and time we wanted, too!
I feel lucky that it came out well, and especially the fact that that I didn't have get on the phone....I can only imagine trying to read my scribbles to a CM at four o'clock in the morning in a pretty dark room! hah!
Maybe it will get better, but wanted to report my good luck in hopes of all of you having the same.

:goodvibes

I am pretty easy going but I was livid. It's not that I need to eat in these places to have a good trip. It's just that it shouldn't be so darn hard when you go out of your way to follow the ridiculous 6 months in advance rules.

It's my first time planning a trip for WDW, and this is exactly how it left me feeling. It just made me grateful that I did not pay for a dining plan, and because of the experience and the hassle, I don't think I would ever invest in the dining plan, even when we have kids. I told Dfi that this took off some of the warm & fuzzies toward Disney...

My only good news came from someone else on DIS who pointed out that California Grill ADRs are not available yet until after the renovation, so at least that explains that one. We weren't able to get the time we wanted for V&A. We were lucky with Hollywood Brown Derby for exactly the time we wanted. And BOG is booked for the entire week of our stay. It's the one I wanted to see most of all.

As you said, it's not like the end of the world; if anything it saves us at least $200 and screws Disney out of our money, but it's still frustrating after having gone through all the hoops.

I was even more frustrated to hear from foreign DISers that their Disney sites (like the UK) or the old Disney site let them in up to 5 minutes early! It's such a lame system all around.

Our ADR day is today and we got everything, even BOG. There were two times available on our date of Dec 2nd.

I called this morning and it was gone. I didn't know that you could call and book your whole trip from the check in day so I had it in mind to call each day at the 180 mark. Dec 2 is my bday and I was disappointed to find out that they were booked. And I thought I was actually on top of things. :(

Online account wouldn't allow me to make ressies at 5 (central time) this morning even on the old website so, I waited to call at 6. Held on the phone for 40 minutes before I got a CM. I didn't get one ADR at the time I wanted. Disappointed is an understatement. I cant believe how difficult it was.

I am sorry. I don't understand how you had such rotten luck and such a long hold time. I called at 7:01 AM on the dine line to add a celebration to one I made online and book a tour and I got right through. I held maybe 30 seconds. :confused3 Keep trying. Sometimes more seats open up each day for those who are just getting to their 180+10. pixiedust:

I always thought upgrades were suppose to make things better.... it was easier 5 years ago than it is today to make an online ADR... I have been trying for 2 days to book Mickeys Backyard BBQ online or phone (on hold now) only to get server busy msg, and be told on phone these time slots have not been loaded into system... so just when do they plan to load them? I was told to just try back..... just got same answer from another CM, she told me to wait a few days:confused3 which she of all people should know on most ADRs a few days could mean the difference between getting an ADR or not... I am so frustrated with Disney right now...

I even took the survey afterwards on the phone, too bad they don't let you leave a voice msg at end:lmao:

We couldn't do our 180+10 online last week (tried both new and old sites) and DH was on hold for 38 minutes...he called right at 7. We did get everything we wanted though (didn't want BOG). I had to call the next day for our 11th day ADRs and again, I was on hold for 32 minutes. It is very, very annoying they cannot fix the website issues.

I had some trouble and had to call their IT Department and they had to get rid of an old internet password from 1999. She helped me link my reservation number up with My Disney Experience and then I was able to make all our reservations.

We got:

Crossroads at the House of Blues
Yak and Yeti
Portobello
Tutto Italia
Via Napoli
le Cellier
San Angel Inn
Teppan Edo
Chefs de France
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
1900 Park Fare
Kouzzina
Raglan Road
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review
Be Our Guest
50s Prime Time Cafe
Sci Fi Drive In Theater

We switched from the Deluxe Dining Plan to the regular dining an. We have 12 table service meals each. We are going to pay out of pocket for 4 meals. We already paid for Hoop Dee Doo. We will fill in the rest with counter service meals.

We are there for 12 days in December and hope to get free dining.

Sorry for all of the trouble everyone is having. There are only two of us and are more flexible with times. Most of our breakfasts are after 9, lunches after 1 and dinners after 7.

We've been the week after Thanksgiving the last 3 years, and this is the first time I've ever had any trouble making ADRs at 180 days. No CRT for lunch our entire trip. No Akershus either. We've never had that happen before. We've never been unable to get the day we wanted and within 30 minutes of the time we wanted, if not the exact time. Now, not only can we not get the day we wanted, we can't get a lunch at either for our entire trip. I'm going to keep trying to pick up a cancellation at CRT, but if I can't we will most likely cancel our trip and go at a differerent time. CRT is DD's No 1 priority and No 1 requested thing to do at WDW on every trip. I really don't want to take a trip where she can't do the thing she loves most at WDW, especially when I can't even pick up a substitute Princess meal at Akershus.
