18 year olds

I need to ask a question for my friend... her son is turning 18 one month before their cruise...can he still join the 17yr olds in the teen clubs?

My son is young for his age. He'll be 18 1/2 when we cruise next. I asked DCL if he would be able to "step down" into Common Grounds, and they said as long as it wasn't a sailing with a lot of teens, it would be no problem. (This is an early Cotober sailing, so taht shouldn't be a problem.) They did say that he ahd to choose being an "adult" or a "teen". In other words if he hung out in Common Grounds he couldn't then go to Serenity Bay on CC or eat in Palo. It's an all or nothing proposition. Fair enough, he wasn't interested in either of those things anyhow.

My daughter will turn 18 3 months before our March cruise and is taking a seperate cruise with friends because we were told that the 17 year olds could not be with the 18 year olds in clubs and the 18 year olds could not go to common grounds. Wish DCL would make it a for sure yes or no.

Anyone else take 17 & 18 year olds and make it work for everyone?

My son turns 18 the 2nd day of our cruise. He loved CG last time & wants to be there this time. He really has no interest in hanging out at the adult-only areas, but I can definitely see him trying to get in just to say he's been there.
I'm sure I don't have to worry - us 'old fogeys' will send him running.
I'll post after the trip.
