I have been doing some digging and seen in trip reports that disney is putting on all tickets a 18%tip. Can anyone tell me if this is true? And what do you do if the service is horiable and you don't feel the server has earned a tip?
Thanks for the help

The only time I've seen an 18% tip automatically added to the bill is when someone is using a Tables In Wonderland card to get the 20% discount on their meal.

No tip threads allowed ... But if you can't justify the tip, even for "horrible service" which you're obviously going to be looking for, then just don't go.

it's automatic for parties of 6 or more. If you feel that your service has not been up to par then you should ask to speak to a manager as soon as you feel your service is lacking. Only the manager can adjust the 18%

What I saw in Feb (as a solo) was that they were doing the math for you at a couple of suggested percentages (18 and 20, IIRC), but it was still up to the diner's discretion whether to follow the suggestions. Not trying to get myself in trouble here, but I think this may be what the OP is hearing about.

. . . they don't add a tip
. . . unless 6+ people on the ressie
. . . however, they do print a suggested 18% tip amount for your reference
. . . to remind you of what THEY WANT you to tip

Can anyone tell me if this is true?
. . . depends
. . . again, no auto tip unless 6+ on ressie
. . . regardless of whether all are at the same table
. . . or if they are paying separate or DDP or OOP or combination

And what do you do if the service is horrible and you don't feel the server has earned a tip?
. . . first, we leave 15% for good service, not 18%
. . . the union and WDW agreed to the 18% tip
. . . not the real world
. . . as for leaving less for bad service, do it
. . . even if 6+ people, we leave less than 18% if poor service
. . . we just call the manager to adjust the bill if 6+ people

The past couple of years i have definitely noticed the 18% & 20% "suggested tip amount" printed on the bill. you dont have to give 18% if you dont want to. A couple of times i've only left 15% despite the suggested amount...cause i felt they didnt deserve 18%. btw here in my hometown 15% is the norm at most places, not 18%.

Closing this now, as the tipping thread link has been posted...please see the first post of that thread for the Restaurant Board's policies on tip discussion.
