We have a large group (18 people) going. 1 member has an Annual Pass with Photo Pass.

Is there a limit to how many people can use the photo pass service on 1 account?

How does Photo Pass work with such a large group?
  1. Will each adult have access to download only the pictures he/she wants? Or do we have to download every picture on the account? While I love my extended family, I do not necessarily want every picture of every person on every ride
  2. How hard / tedious will it be to sort through and view only the pictures of my immediate family if 18 people are using the same Photo Pass account?
  3. Will each adult be able to order only photos he/she wants from Disney website after trip?
  4. Would there be any advantage to 1 family buying Memory Maker if they wanted to keep their photos separate or should the families be able to sort through pixs and even create file folders within Photo Pass site to sort out pixs to make it easier to view?
  5. Other things we have not thought of / considered in using photo services for such a large group?
Thank you.

No there's no limit - all those individuals would need to be in the MDE account for the passholder. The passholder sets up the access rights to those individuals. I was the passholder for a large group, what I did was download them all then upload them dropbox to share. Just seemed easier to me. All the photos will be there together, there's no easy way to sort them by family if they are all under the one passholder. I would have the individual families download what they want from the shared site. Having a family purchase the memory maker would sort of defeat the cost savings. There's no way to sort them on the disney photopass site that I know of. Honestly after I uploaded them to another site I deleted them from my account as it was annoying to have to scroll thru them all.

Have the AP link everyone going to his friends and family list. He'll get everyone's photo's in his photopass section of MDE and he can download any and all photos. There's no need for anyone else to buy Memory Maker or anything else since the AP can see and download everything as long as everyone accepts his invite to his friends and family list.

As long as everyone's linked, the AP doesn't even need to be in the same park as everyone else and he'll still get all the photos.

If there's a way to sort the photos other than by park or date I haven't figured it out. I had to download all of the pics.

Sorry to sound dense as I am technically challenged. Its not making sense to me.

Would this be a correct statement?

Assume we are all linked correctly in MDE to main Photo Pass holders account. Everyone in our large group can see all the photos on their home computer using 1 log in account / same password given to us by main PP account holder. Everyone can download only the photos he/she wants to see onto their home computer. Everyone has equal access to PP site and can order prints / products like key chains direct from Disney.

or

Or only the main PP account holder can download pixs. Main PP account holder has to download pixs to personal computer and then upload all pixs to 3rd party site like Photobucket or Shutterfly. Main PP account gives rest of us in group the 3rd party site password. From there, we can download onto our own computer and /or order 3rd party prints or products.

If the person who purchases MM is willing to give everyone in the group their login information, then scenario one will work just fine. I wouldn't order prints from PhotoPass though - they cost about $15 apiece.

No you don't have to give people your login, they can view the pictures if they have rights to access them in the MDE setup. If the person is willing to give the login then yes they could see and download all the photos. I believe they could download them on their phones, but I can't remember for sure. Like I said it's really easier just to have one person download them all, then share via another site.

Not that I know of - if you have a lot from multiple trips it's even more annoying. I'm not one to delete photos though, even if I've downloaded them. I can't bring myself to do it lol.

If everyone is fully linked together...

-Person with AP has ability to download ALL photos from their MDE. Including ones of themselves and everyone on their friends and family list.

-People without AP can see everyone else's photos, but all photos will have watermarks on them and they'll have a button asking if they want to buy the pictures.

So either the AP holder can download any and all photos for everyone and then email them, text them, upload to a photobucket, etc...give everyone who wants photos the info to log into the AP holders MDE (I wouldn't go this route) and they can download...or others would need to buy Memory Maker or buy individual photos.

IMO..easiest way to do this and cheapest...have everyone linked so AP holder gets everyone's pictures. When the trips over the AP logs in to their MDE, he/she downloads ALL the photos taken from the trip, then creates a photobucket account specifically for this Disney trip, then does a bulk upload to photobucket with all the photos taken, then tells everyone that went to Disney the log in info to the photobucket account and each person can see all photos and download what they want.

Uploading in bulk through photobucket is super easy compared to what it use to be. It really wouldn't take long at all

The only thing I see "wrong" with the bulk upload by the AP without sharing their login info is that either:
The AP holder will have to add all borders, stickers, effects themselves with no input from the people in the pictutres
- OR the AP holder has to take requests and do all the edits as requested by the other group members
- OR the AP holder thinks this is a big pain and no one gets any borders, stickers, edits
That's why I think it would be ideal if the AP is willing to share their login for MM purposes. They can always change their password just before sharing it and change it again when the photos have all been completed.

I chose a few of the full group photos to put borders on, but other than that I didn't do any edits. It only takes a few minutes to do the borders on the ride photos. I wouldn't bother with stickers and stuff. There was no way I was handing out my login to other people. My case was for a dance team not a large family though. I had other photos in my account that I didn't want them to have access to.
