DGD will be 18 months old when we fly to Orlando in Oct, she drinks real milk and has a sippy cup of either milk or juice at all times. can these get pass security? if not anyone have ideas, she is not allowed to drink soda so that is out on the plane.

I would recommend bringing an empty sippy cup and purchasing milk or juice after security. It would be the least stressful way for you and the passengers in line behind you at security.

DS always has a sippy cup of milk or juice for take-off--usually juice so I don't have to worry about the temperature--and I ask the flight attendant for juice for him when they are passing out drinks. One of those little cups with ice is the perfect size for a sippy cup. They most likely won't have milk onboard the plane and keeping milk cold won't be possible, so I would go for juice for landing.

Officially from tsa.gov in the section on traveling with children:

Medications, baby formula and food, breast milk, and juice are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint. Click here to learn more about 3-1-1

All items including formula, breast milk, and juice will be inspected, however, you or your infant or toddler will not be asked to test or taste breast milk, formula, or juice. Our Security Officers may test liquid exemptions (exempt items more than 3 ounces) for explosives.

Regardless of what the TSA site says, the agents do as they please. If they decide that you do not need to bring that juice or milk because it is available to you past security, they won't allow it to pass. Testing of the juice/milk, etc. takes time and is a hassle for everyone involved--the TSA, the passengers bringing the liquid and the people stuck behind them. If it isn't infant formula, just buy it past security for the sake of everyone involved.

I always brought drinks though for DD when she was a baby/toddler. Once TSA in Chicago said no, I asked for a supervisor and they said it was OK.

Just make sure everything is in a bottle/sippy, I keep it all together in a small bag and immediately tell them I have baby bottles before the x-ray machine. If you have milk/juice in original store bottle they will say no.
