anyone know if Disney has any plans for some type of activities for 18 19 and even 20 year olds that are not into bars besides you cannot drink until 21

I defintely hope they will do something for this age group. I know we will never be able to get our oldest daughter to go on a Disney Cruise again because there just weren't any activities for her age group. Even if they would do a "meet & greet" the first night, at least they would be able to meet other kids their age and try to make plans for later. On the survey that they asked me to fill out online, I commented that I would like to see something done for the older teens.

we filled out the same survey after our first druise and had our sons fill out one too we are hoping they do something soon we are planning our next cruise for 2006 we like your idea of a meet and greet for these kids the first day

It was apparant to us that our 19yr old son would not have had enough to keep him occupied on a cruise. He has had a tour of the ship (courtesy of DD), and thought it was great, but much preferred the opportunity of going to DisneyWorld instead. Not many teenagers would appreciate looking at scenery/ocean for a week. If you take a teenager, then make sure they have the company of similar age pals. Nat:Pinkbounc

Aloha!

We just returned from Western with our 18 yo DS...

He LOVED the cruise! However, he is very close to us and we still do MANY things together. So he was well entertained and had fun...That said....there were almost NO organized activities for his age group. We knew this beforehand and we were fine with this. We did note that many older teens/young adults seemed to be traveling with friends(relatives) of a similar age so had ready-made companions. The 'SINGLES' meets for 'adults' 18 & up did NOT entice our son...he was worried it would be a scene from a Jack Lemmon/Walter Mathau film :teeth: and he'd end up having to dance with Bea Arthur !!!
BTW...we all enjoyed the evening 'adult' shows (comedy, 70's nite, etc...) in the niteclubs. We don't drink and no one cared! No one even asked to take an order!
Anyway...we all have wonderful memories and hope to cruise again in a few years! hope this helps!

My daughter did go down to the Singles meet for 18 & older and your son was right...everyone was A LOT older. There wasn't anyone even near her age down there. Most were well over 30. She left pretty quickly! I think having a get together for ages 18 - 20 would work a lot better. My daughter loved the shows, and we went to some of the nightclubs, but the smoke really bothered us, so we weren't able to stay very long. I really wish that we had been able to bring a friend along for her.
