Any jeweler can custom make any type of ring.Tell your jeweler what you want and see what they can do for you in your price range.

My ering was custom made and so was my band.If your from South Jersey I can send you to my jeweler lol.

Hi, Yes, many jewelers will make custom rings. My ering and then my band took about 3 weeks each.

It won't take long..I think my engagement ring took like 1-2 weeks.My wedding band will take like a week at the most.They have to keep my ering for a day cause they have to make sure the band will fit with the ering...Anyway I'm getting married in May and my band will be done way before then so you have plenty of time.

Start looking into jewelers now and you will have plenty of time. Good luck.

what kind of metal is more durable, but still affordable??

She's really rough on any kind of jewelry, she's managed to bust the glass on her watch only about 6 months after getting it. I know gold can scratch. And which metal is the really lightweight one?

I believe the more durable one is platinum - not sure whether gold or platinum is lighter.

I know my ring is a size 5, I have small hands and they were able to custom the ring to they I wanted it.... it took 2 weeks for my Fiance to get it...GL

There's a few differences between platinum and gold. Gold is lighter, I believe, but also less money, has more of a shine and you can get it in a few different colors. Platinum is more expensive and has a duller finish then gold (it's just the way the metal is). Platinum also kind of bends whereas gold doesn't really bend -if it's going to bend it just breaks!

I went with white gold for my engagement ring. It was really a cost issue but I love how shiny the white gold is. And the chances of it breaking are slim.
