17000 starpoints???

I have over 17000 starpoints in my account and we are gold card members.
We are staying for four nights July31-Aug 4th.
We usually get a complimentary upgrade to a balcony and once last year even got club privileges. Should we wait until check in to see whatg they will offer us or should I try to get an upgrade before.
What could we hope to get with that many points and what should we ask for??

I would try to see how many starpoints it would take to get an upgrade. The upgrade at check in is only guaranteed IF AVAILABLE!! And you are going at a peak time, so availability is unlikely. If you use some starpoints to upgrade, you are assured of getting it. We love the Swan, I am so envious... enjoy your trip!
