I am planning a family trip for my DS 17, DD 5, DH and myself in the first week of November. I am trying to have a family vacation with everyone before my son finishes high school and goes on on his "life". My son doesn't act like he's very excited. Do teenagers have a lot of fun at Disney? What are things that they like to do most so I can give him some suggestions. Thanks for any input you might give me. We'll be staying at the Polynesian. Thanks.

Margie

This last trip we had at easter the ds were 16,14 and 12. We go every year and its getting harder to keep them happy. I do let them have some alone time. Ds 16 liked taking pictures and helping the little ds get autographs. He liked playing the games on the board walk and at the animal kingdom, and of course they stayed at disney quest to closing 2 nights. If he loves video games, its a dream come true. I am sure you will have a challenge pleaseing your almost man and your little princess. I think the ds would die if they had to go to a princess meal. They would only do it for me once and it would have to be mary poppins at the gf. At the Poly they have the awesome volcano pool. You might want to look into the family plan for boat rental if he wants to spend alot of time doing the sea racyer boats. Our ds did that at easter right before the rules changed. They love it. Show him the menus from all ears and let him pick out a restraunt or 2. I let all the ds pick out something, they picked out rainforest, espn (top of their list), sportslovers dream come true, and any buffet. Our ds like all the mountains, test track, and mission space and rnr at mgm and tot. They also love the water parks and we cant get them out of the wave pool at typhoon lagoon. With a little planning, I am sure you will have a great trip and make everyone happy. Good luck. Also check out the arcade challenge at the poly. Free video games for 1 hour, like 3-4 pm three times a week. Just show resort id.

I couldn't believe your post, but glad you asked! I'm in the exact same situation, except we'll be there sooner than that. Me, DH, oldest DS 17 and baby DS 5 are heading to the world at the end of this month for the exact same reason. DS 17 starts college in August and DS 5 starts kindergarden so who knows how much longer we'll vacation together and we are in desperate need of one.

I'll let you know how it goes, but I do worry that DS 17 might get bored on his own.

He likes computer games make sure to check out the mission space race game at the exit of the ride. You can play it online to get use to how to play and then play it live there. My teens liked it a lot and wnated to play it often. Not to mention it is air conditioned in there and it has a playroom for the little ones while the teens play.::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

thanks for all the advice and info. I've made note of all of it.
It's a small world! I didn't think anyone else had such a difference in ages with two kids!

I can't wait!!!!

My sons are 16 (17 in Sept), 14, 4 and 2. My 2 teenagers still enjoy going to Disney. They like the thrill rides like ToT, RnR, SM, etc. They also enjoy eating out at nice places while we are there and swimming in the pools.
They also really like staying at Universal as well (so do dh and I). We always spend a couple of nights at the RPR or HRH and eat at HRC. We just try to make sure we give everyone a turn picking out what they want to do so no one feels left out.
