17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

Ok - that's it!! I definitely want to be adopted by your family :lmao: (if only I were a kid  )

You really really outdid yourselves surprising your kids - what a fabulous vacation and one they'll never forget

You did amazing things for your friends and family and its so fun to read about!

just signing one, after starting to read this report, I realized I had read one of your other previous ones, for some reason I remembered your "names" for your children, after I started reading. YOu did such a great job at planning this wonderful trip. I cannot wait to read the rest. Of course now I have to try to plan something fun for our upcoming trip in March, nothing as exciting as what you did, but you have inspired me!
I think all surprises are exciting! I think a really fun surprise afternoon would be one spent exploring the EPCOT resorts. Bringing a blanket, some paper plates and plastic forks along and then picking up a cake at the Boardwalk bakery. And having an unbirthday party on the beach! How much fun would that be?! I am going to try to work that idea into one of our next trips. Or maybe an Illuminations cruise followed by a stroll along the boardwalk. Or...well, I have so many ideas and so little time! ;)

Don't choke on any kernels! ;) It's good to see you still here!

Tell me Jay, which Disney Channel show are you all on???

I love that people thought you guys were celebrities! What a fun way to end the day, I'm looking forward to hearing about MNSSHP!
I couldn't believe it. I was laughing so hard when they thought that (obviously about the kids and not us stuffy old adults:rotfl2: ). MNSSHP part one will be coming up shortly!

Just wanted to say hi and what a great trip report! I subscribed a while ago but never commented 'til now (I kept thinking anything I would say would be lame!). You're family is adorable and looks like they will remember this forever! You are too awesome!! Your Little Prince reminds me of our family's LP. He's my nephew, who I'll call Kitty (after Sully who is his current obsession!) He was always a happy baby too, all smiles and giggles, and he is a VERY active (i.e. crazy) little 3 year old who we have spoiled in all things Disney. I can't wait til we take him on his first Disney trip. Anyway, love the report and look forward to more updates!
Lame?! Never! You are always welcome to post. I laughed so hard over you calling him Kitty. Our little guy is active as well. I would love to hear about when Kitty first swees Disney! Make sure you write a trip report! And please, feel free to stick around and post any time you like! WELCOME!:goodvibes

:rotfl2: Ya, I wanna know what Disney show your boys are on too...hahaha. You know they are cute enough to be on one!!! :goodvibes

Awww, the boys look so cute in the NBC Christmas sets...I am so glad Stitch was able to wear his again!! I loved making them for your little ones!!! I hope you have more pics of Little Prince so I can see him with the shirt and the shorts...LOL....(you know me Jay...always wanting more pictures)!!! Hahaha.,

Your dream day has been so exciting, what a wonderful surprise to everyone. You rock Jay. I can't wait to read all about MNSSHP!!
First, we SHOULD have our own Disney show, you are right.:lmao: Now, just please inform the Disney channel executives and have them get right on it. ;) I would be willing to sacrifice my privacy in order for them to film us going to WDW multiple times a year. We could let them follow along on our trips. :lmao: :thumbsup2 They would get entertainment...we would get free Disney. I see nothing wrong with that plan!:confused3 :lmao: :rotfl:

Those outfits are SO darling and precious! Stitch was going to fit in that outfit even if it wasn't the right size. He LOVES it! I do have more pictures of everyone from that night and I will post them as I start in on posting about MNSSHP!

It was such an exciting and dreamy day! :cloud9:

I've seen that show, I've seen that show!!

THE SNEAKY MOM, THE KIDS, THE FRIENDS, AND THE NUGGET!!!

It's one of my favorites!

What a great and awesome day!! The whole day from the spa to the party were just amazing and you did such a great job! :yay: I bow to your creativity and ability to keep your mouth shut!! I just loved reading along and sharing it with all of you. Thanks so much, Jay!!
"THE SNEAKY MOM, THE KIDS, THE FRIENDS, AND THE NUGGET!!!" HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAH HA HA HA HA. Really, I think Disney is missing out, they should have a show of trip reports...think of all of the business it would drum up by inspiring people to take trips of their own! And as long as they have the show, I might as well go ahead and offer to be part of it.

I did keep my mouth shut! I am so PROUD! How did I do that?! It was a miracle, nothing short of a miracle!

I cannot imagine arriving to the most magical place on earth by yacht! :cloud9: You are so clever "calling" to see if anymore tickets were available :worship: Everybody looks like they're having so much fun, what nice pictures. What's hilarious is the fact you have a TV show and never told us :lmao: You must have felt like a celebrity for a few minutes! I love the way your mind works, can't wait for party fun! (Oh, and we are in the 'teens', 19 more days!)

Oh and I forgot to mention how nice all the costumes were!
WOW...in the teens! WOO HOO!:woohoo: How great for you both!! I was inspired to make that phone call by the fact that the boys kept asking me why we had to have Halloween costumes with us if we weren't going to MNSSHP. So, I had to set it up as if we might be, but then I didn't want them to think we were, so I made the pretend call (as did the mom in our family of dear friends). She plotted with me on that part and it was in part her idea to make the fake call. We felt like secret agents sneaking around and planning on going to MNSSHP together behind our kid's backs. If only she had known all that I had planned behind her back for the rest of the day.

Wow what a way to arrive at MK and how funny that people thought you were celebrities, well you are on here
You are the real deal when it comes to Disney celeberties! Did you all know that we had our very own DISNEY MOM'S PANEL MOM here?! CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!!!

Love it! Love it! Love it! This was great! Such an amazing day! Isn't crowd psychology funny? Surely you must have been celebrities, who else would arrive at MK on a yacht? Maybe Disney channel should look you guys up! It would be a very cute show!
I was laughing. When one person thought it, then it must have been true was the general reacation. I was laughing so hard. And the phrase, "Sorry, it's just little ol' us" kept repeating in my head. ;) AND YES, they should look us up! HA HA HA.

What a great day! I love the boys matching outfits, so cute. Looking forward to hearing about MNSSHP . It rained on our MNSSHP night in October.
It rained a LOT last year when we attempted our last MNSSHP night. So, this rainless night was a welcome change! Sorry your night was rainy. That can really put a damper on a lot of the MNSSHP activities!

Wow this is truly amazing! :thumbsup2 I never even knew things like all the wonderful stuff you surprised your kids with were possible!! No offense to my parents (they're great lol) but you just made every vacation I went on as a kid seem like nothing :rotfl:
I had no idea either. It just started off as me dreaming and when asked if they could do this or that, they always said yes and came up with even more! It was amazing working with them. The sky is the limit for what can be done to make dreams come true at WDW. WELL...your bank account is actually the limit. :rotfl2: At least in my case it was, they had so many more ideas that never even came to be because I had to nix them due to costs or time.

This really does sound like the most magical day ever! I never even imagined such things could be done at WDW. What a wonderful treat for your family and friends!
I love your user name! I had never imagined it either. It was a wonderful treat for me as well! WDW is truly the place where any dream can come true!

Ok - that's it!! I definitely want to be adopted by your family :lmao: (if only I were a kid  )

You really really outdid yourselves surprising your kids - what a fabulous vacation and one they'll never forget
Welcome to the family. ;) I hope that none of us ever forget it. Even our Little Prince will "think" he remembers it as I hope we talk about our trip so much and he sees so many pictures that he has memories of our memories. ;)

You did amazing things for your friends and family and its so fun to read about!
They do amazing things for me every day. I am so blessed to know all of them. The day we shared was a very small way to thank all of them (my family and friends) for being the greatest blessings in my life.

Don't you know, Jay??? :confused3

You ARE a Celebrity!!! :cutie:

At least to us, you are!
OH, I forgot I was a celebrity! I guess I should start paying more attention to how I dress and to doing my hair before I set out for the grocery store! If they caught a picture of me the way I normally look while out and about, it might make the "worst dressed" list!:scared1: :rotfl:

Hi Jay! I am a newbie to your report and just got caught up. :surfweb: Your trip and the day of surprises sound magical! Can't wait to read what is coming up next!!!

I can't believe how magical that is. Arriving at the Magic Kingdom via a private yacht. Simply remarkable. Hmm...I wonder what show you all are on...? ;) You've truly grasped the art of Disney magic, Jay. Congrats! :wizard: I can't wait to hear about MNNSHP now!!

It was such an exciting and dreamy day! :cloud9:

LOL...wouldn't that be cool...free Disney and an amazing show. "LIVE TR's - Watch the MAGIC Unfold"!!! I would totally watch that. Do you hear that Disney????

Yeah...can't wait to see more pictures too!!! You know I still wanna tag along and be your personal photographer on one of these WDW adventures of yours!!! LOL...hmm...maybe the one that includes the Disney VOW RENEWALS.....hmmm...I wonder who ever gave you that expensive idea??? LOL . Hey just think....a Grand 1 Yacht excursion after the vow renewal??? LOL. That is unless you upgrade to Cinderella's coach!!!

Day 5 MNSSHP part 1-

We were so excited to continue our dream day by enjoying every bit of the party that Mickey was throwing. ;) Here are a few pictures I snapped as we made our way toward the castle and into the heart of all things Disney...my true home. :cloud9:

wddw08120.jpg

I know that lots of people have horror stories to show for it when they try to vacation with another family...however, we have had great experiences doing just that. And this family of our dear friends tops our list of vacation friend fun! Maybe what works out so very well is the fact that we have kids of similar ages/interests. Or it may be that we have a very open avenue of communication and lots of respect for each other. Or it just may be we like to hang out together. Whatever the reason, we love to share our vacation time together! The only thing I was worried about was I had to be the uber planner extrodinarre. I didn't want my planning image tarnished. ;) I had to keep us ahead of the crowds while having fun, riding the rides everyone was interested in and not dragging them half way across the park between each ride to do so. Lucky for me, I thrive on just such a challenge!

As we approached Fantasyland, I was very happy to see that it was as empty as I had hoped for. The first ride we enjoyed were the teacups.
wddw08123.jpg

I love this picture. You can see the dd (dear dad) of the other family warning the kids that they had better slow down or else. :rotfl: Not very smart on his part, the kids took that as a challenge and picked "or else". :rotfl: He was dizzy as all get out by the time he finally got away from those mad hatters! ;)
wddw08121.jpg

While he recovered, the rest of us took another spin. I love the tea cups. There is something so innocent, simple and exciting about that ride. It reminds me of summers spent attending local fairs while growing up and riding the spinning rides that came along with them. Of course, the teacups also remind me of my childhood trips to Walt Disney World and I will never forget spinning as fast as I could turn the tea cup with my dad.

I love this next picture as well. I love the big smiles on my boys' faces! They were so proud of themselves to be able to ride all alone in the tea cup.
wddw08122.jpg

By the time our second spin was spun, everyone was 'un'dizzy and ready to head out and explore the rest of Fantasyland. Up next? DUMBO! We usually skip Dumbo, it's such a slow loading ride...but this time...there was NO line!!
So I grabbed our Little Prince, handed dh the camera and lined up behind all of the rest of the kids. It was time that the Little Prince take his first ride on a flying elephant with his mom by his side. This was a really special moment for me. One of those moments out of time sorts of things. On my first trip to WDW when I was 5 years old, I remember that my very first ride was Dumbo. And it was one of the few rides I rode alone with my mom. :wizard: She has since passed and these fleeting moments of connection where I still feel as if she is with me are very precious. Holding my little guy with one hand and the control stick in the other, I felt like my mom was with me...and that she was happy that I was able to share this moment with my own son. :cloud9:
wddw08134.jpg

wddw08133.jpg

wddw08132.jpg

wddw08131.jpg

After our ride, dh took most of the little monkeys and the whole troop of them posed in their proper place. ;)
wddw08135.jpg

Next we headed over and took a ride in a hunny pot with one of our favorite friends, Pooh!
wddw08126.jpg

wddw08128.jpg

Not the best picture, but I just love those cheeks! That and I love all of the detail you can see on his super cool shirt!
wddw08124.jpg

He looked sort of worried when the weather got blustery!
wddw08129.jpg

wddw08127.jpg

You can see just how much he did end up liking the ride by the time we were done!
wddw08125.jpg

Our Little Prince was even more taken with the Peter Pan ride. It was great to share that experience with him. Everything seemed brighter and the details more amazing when you looked at it through his eyes.

He wasn't even scared when we rode the Snow White ride. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous that it might be too startling for him...but he didn't even flinch. He just smiled away and his little eyes were as wide as saucers! Everyone else really enjoyed themselves as well!
wddw08136.jpg

wddw08137.jpg

Our Little Prince was getting tired by the time he emerged from the dwarves' mine. In fact, as we made our way to IaSW, he fell fast asleep on his daddy's shoulder. I was sort of bummed over that. I was looking forward to his reaction to the singing dolls...but that new experience would have to wait until the following day.
wddw08139.jpg

I am including this picture to once again show the fabulous detail on an outfit that MouseTriper made! Look at that detailed stitching!
wddw08138.jpg

By the official start of the party, we had made the rounds of Fantasyland and headed over to take a tour of a Haunted Mansion. When we stopped to have a bathroom break, Stitch sat down on a piece of chewing gum. No wonder Disney doesn't sell that stuff (and this from an addicted gum chewer), what a mess! He spent a good part of the next few hours pulling his shirt down in the back to try and cover the gum stain.
wddw08140.jpg

From there we made our way back to the future and enjoyed just about every ride that Tomorrowland had to offer. Buzz, Space Mountain, CoP and finally the TTA. We did them all (we skipped the Astro Orbiters due to a few people with height issues, not their heights...but the rides' :rotfl: ). I actually skipped a second ride on Space Mountain so that dh could take a galactic adventure (he had waited with our Little Prince while the rest of us rode the first time *with his motion issues, this is a one time per day maximum ride*). While those who wanted took another blast through space, I took Goofy, Cinderella and Stitch to ride on the TTA. The three of them had a great time! They were laughing, singing and giggling the entire ride. Lucky for us, nobody was in any of the cars surrounding us. We had so much fun on the ride we rode it twice in a row (we didn't even have to get off)!
wddw08147.jpg

wddw08146.jpg

After our double ride around Tomorrowland we made our way over to do a little bit of shopping. This is where Stitch was to discover the little voodoo doll of Jack Sparrow. He was ever so happy with that find! He was so happy in fact, that he was in the mood to try on some hats for me.
wddw08151.jpg

wddw08150.jpg

Another picture of Stitch and Cinderella.
wddw08149.jpg

As we were enjoying shopping here, the rest of our group spent some snack credits and we shared a bunch of cold smoothies. Those really hit the spot! As we enjoyed the smoothies we headed over toward the castle. It was just about then we realized that fireworks were about to start. We grabbed a portion of railing (we were on the bridge from Tomorrowland back to the castle hub). Everyone was awed by the fireworks. Even though none of us were seeing them for the first time (besides our Little Prince).
wddw08152.jpg

wddw08153.jpg

This would have been a magical way to cap off an amazing day...but for us, the party was just starting! We had plans to attend the second parade and do a lot more riding and even some trick-or-treating before our night was going to draw to a close.

TO BE CONTINUED...

Jay, I am SO impressed with how tranquil the little prince is, and how he hangs in there in apparent good humor until he falls asleep. WHAT an angel! You sure are richly blessed, girl (as are we, that you are willing to share your adventures - and your family - with us.)

Ok, the Little Prince wins the cute cheeks award! :goodvibes He is just darling!
Sometimes I think who would we like to go to Disney with? I think you guys are quite blessed to have another family of dear friends to go with and enjoy. I'm glad to see that it can work.
Your thougts on Dumbo about your mom were sweet. Little times like that are so heartfelt.

The pirate outfits are too cute!! What a great day! And i can just imagine all the publicity you got after disembarking the Grand One infront of all those people! Awesome suprise Mom!!

I started reading your trip report a couple of days ago. Man you're one awesome mommy! Your kids are adorable too. :D

More then once I had to stop reading because my eyes were filling with tears!

Hi Jay! I am a newbie to your report and just got caught up. :surfweb: Your trip and the day of surprises sound magical! Can't wait to read what is coming up next!!!
Hey there! I am hoping your user name means you love the CoP in Tomorrowland! I ADORE that ride...the "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" song is such a great Disney song. I am often found singing it at random throughout our vacation and the weeks after I return home. ;) Welcome!

"the art of Disney magic" ...I love that term! ;) The yacht arrival was my favorite part of the day, it was just pure magic in my book.

Loving this Trip Report!! You have a beautiful family.
Thanks for joining in. I hope that the PMs have helped. Just let me know if you have any more questions! :)

LOL...wouldn't that be cool...free Disney and an amazing show. "LIVE TR's - Watch the MAGIC Unfold"!!! I would totally watch that. Do you hear that Disney????

You are ALWAYS invited anytime. Well, as long as those adorable children of yours are in tow. ;) I need an extra little prince to adore and a little princess to dress up. :goodvibes

I do blame you for the whole vow renewal idea. It is YOUR fault. ;) Or at least that is what I plead to dh when he looks at me like I am growing a second head when I start to lay out the costs. :rotfl:

He is such a 'go with the flow' sort of baby. We are very blessed! He has had little choice in his short life...from the time he was a few weeks old, he was attending indoor soccer games with buzzers, clapping and cheering going on in the background while he napped. He is used to three big brothers and two dogs making noise around the house. And although I am jealous sometimes of parents who have children that go to sleep every night at the same early time...in our house, it just works for us to have a more flexible schedule. He is used to being out and about and falling asleep for naps and even bedtime in grocery stores, at friend's houses and while we are out to eat. ;) As long as he has one of us around, he is usually a very happy little guy. He is a huge blessing for our entire family. The missing peice to our puzzle. He is simply our real dream come true.

And Linda, I am also very lucky to have met wonderful DISers like you through being able to write trip reports! So THANK YOU for letting me share my family moments with you. It helps me to keep the magic alive and I have been fortunate enough to even meet a few real life long friends such as yourself through doing so. I am once again, very blessed. :goodvibes

Your thougts on Dumbo about your mom were sweet. Little times like that are so heartfelt.
That moment with my little guy on Dumbo really hit me. Every time I get on Dumbo, I do think of my first ride with my mom...but this time with our Little Prince I was just really taken back in my mind and felt very strongly that my mom was happy that I was sharing that same sort of memory with my own son. Ahhh. How I wish she would have been able to meet him (all of them actually, she only met Aladdin before she we lost her). :cloud9: It was just really a great thing to feel as if I were sharing a moment with both her and my tiny son. It was a real gift. And I hope that one day, my boys are at WDW with their children and they have flashbacks to all of the fun our family had together. Even more, I hope we are all there enjoying it together! :wizard:

The pirate outfits are too cute!! What a great day! And i can just imagine all the publicity you got after disembarking the Grand One infront of all those people! Awesome suprise Mom!!
That was a strange twist on the arrival...but it was so magical that nothing else really mattered!

Looks like you all had an awesome time and the party! pirate:
We did! And we continued to have a great time the rest of that night (and the rest of the vacation as well).

I started reading your trip report a couple of days ago. Man you're one awesome mommy! Your kids are adorable too. :D

More then once I had to stop reading because my eyes were filling with tears!
That truly is one of the nicest things anyone has ever said. THANK YOU! And welcome! I hope you stick around. :)

Coming up soon...more MNSSHP!

THANK YOU ALL for sharing in this journey back to the magic with me!:grouphug:

Awwww thanks

What a lovely memory you'll have :goodvibes

It really is fantastic how well you and the other family get along, the children look like the best of friends :goodvibes

You planned such a wonderful day for your family and friends! I loved every detail.....simply wonderful. :thumbsup2

I choked up about your memories of your mother. That was very sweet.
