17 Days of Wishes Come to Life- A Sept. 08 WDW and DCL Adventure 3/27 new link posted

The morning was so frustrating (although I couldn't help but chuckle that you knew Stitch kicked them under the bed! :lmao: ) but how great all the boys got to choose a gift from the Grand Floridian gift shop!

The Little Prince is too cute reaching for the characters!

Before I scrolled all the way down, I almost guessed right on that Jasmine question! I knew it stated with the letter 'R' but couldn't remember Raja! :cutie: How cool Aladdin knew the answer and got that certificate, good for him! :thumbsup2 Jungle Cruise is big fun, I can't help but laugh out loud at all the jokes!

All caught up and loving it!! :goodvibes

I had left for our trip just before you arrived at MK on the yacht-what a neat moment!!! And who knew you were all celebrities, eh? ;)

I'm so sorry to hear about the rude CM you encountered about the shorts! Completely absurd! How hard would it have been for her to pick up the phone?! :sad2: It had to feel a little good when you saw the CM standing there with the shorts proving them all wrong and you RIGHT! :rolleyes1 ;) And what a nice surprise of letting the boys pick out a gift.

I love all your LP pictures-he's such a cutie, his eyes all lit up and enjoying all the wonder at Disney. :goodvibes

Hi Jay! Great update! I am glad you had a nice yacht CM to make the shorts incident better. Nothing like a bit of free Disney shopping to make the day brighter! ;)
I have never been on Aladdin's Flying Carpets! Can you believe that?? We spent so much time in Tomorrowland that Adventureland was mostly about POTC and Dole Whips! :goodvibes
LP's future job will be something at Disney, he is in his element there! He just looks so sweet with all of the characters... :lovestruc

Wow what a rude CM at WL, sounded as though she needed a bit of pixidust!!! So pleased you found the shorts eventually and in the exact place you said too :thumbsup2 How nice of the GF CM to let the boys have a gift!

I am finally all caught up. We just got back from our trip yesterday. I love the costumes you had made by mousetripper great work!!!! The shopping spree was awesome and I am happy you got that out of a not so magical moment. On a side note that is what I was sort of speaking of in your pre trippe when I said we had some troubles at the lodge. However you make a bad situation into something interesting and fun and that is why you are such a great "disney" mommy. The getting off the yacht thing cracked me up. The party decorations were amazing. That day was the most magical thing I have ever herd tell of. I am glad it played out so well for your family and friends. Now I have to wait for an update instead of an hour of reading and fun!!! that I had catching up. I cant wait to hear about the rest of the day.

i loved your updates! Sorry about the rude CM :sad2: what she said to you was just plain nasty. Glad someone finally listened and Stitch got his shorts back. :thumbsup2 to the CM who let the boys pick out a souvenir from the GF giftshop. I enjoyed your character pics and JC pics. LP looks like such a happy baby :) .

Great updates Jay! I totally agree that the Marina CM was amazing to get you right back in the Disney spirit. Thankfully it always seems that the bad CM's end up totally being overshadowed by the greatest of CM's. Great pics again, I think we all love little prince!

Oh Jay, I know how frustrating that day was for you (and how RUDE RUDE RUDE that CM was) ..... but .... to be completely honest ..... I smiled all the way through it, just imagining Stitch kicking off his shorts under the bed!!! :lmao: Something about that little boy/mischevious grin of his makes it too funny. And knowing how badly he was hurting from that migraine -- I couldn't help smiling knowing he was well and so happy!!
I am actually still chuckling about him kicking the shorts under the bed myself. It is so funny to me because it is just SO him! When I go to gather the laundry, I always have to ask him to clear out under his bed first! :rotfl: Never fails the missing sock, pants, shoes, etc are ALWAYS under his bed! :rotfl:

Aladdin is truly a Disney trivia buff. He knows not only characters, movies, music and stuff like that but also facts about Walt Disney's life, the company...he's a walking Disney encyclopedia. I am so proud!:thumbsup2

I loved watching him reach for each and every character. That never failed to make me say "awwww". ;)

All caught up and loving it!! :goodvibes

Welcome back! I am looking forward to hearing all about your trip! *Hint, you should all check out her TR!*

I felt vindicated when I saw him holding those shorts. I was starting to wonder if the yacht had some sort of shorts monster that may have dined on them while we weren't looking!

You should really true the carpets...even if it's just to take in the awesome views! I hope at least one of my boys does an internship at WDW. Another excuse to visit WDW! :cool2:

Very rude WL CM. VERY NICE marina CM. That's a big part of what I love about Disney, for every very rare bad experience plentiful magical experiences are all around.

WELCOME BACK!

Mousetriper did do a great job on making those! She is such a dear friend and for her to have made those for the boys was such a sweet thing to do. I cherish those outfits.

Awww, thanks!

Due to the room that was supposed to be specially cleaned for medical reasons but was not(the issue that I covered earlier in my trip report) we were given a 40% refund of our first night when the incident occured (AFTER I asked for it).

Long story short, I didn't feel that was right. I shouldn't have had to ask for a refund in the first place. And when I did, it should have been a full night's refund. You wouldn't pay for 60% of the cost of a plate of food that made you sick. So, I didn't want to pay for 60% of a night's lodging which did the same thing. Even more than getting the rest of the money refunded, I was concerned about how to avoid this problem in the future.

Today I got a message saying that the rest of our first night would be refunded (making it a 100% refund for our first night). I am happy that the monetary part of my inquiry was addressed, but my larger concern (of how to avoid this situation in the future) was not even addressed.

The person who left me a message about the refund left her number in case I had any problems with the refund processing...I guess I will be using her phone number tomorrow to hopefully work toward a solution for our future trips. The refund does take the sting out of the anger I felt about the situation. However, it does nothing to address the greater concern, the more pressing issue about how to make sure my son has the best shot at staying in a healthy enviornment while vacationing at WDW. :headache: I wish I wouldn't have missed that phone call.:headache:

Thanks for letting me vent.

I will be posting another update shortly.

UP NEXT: Pirates in my family?! Dinner with a fairy godmother. Tumbling down from a briar patch. Yet more room service. Losing something valuable and much more!!

I'm very happy that Disney gave you the 100% refund - especially as you ended up cleaning the room for them!
My favourite part of this lovely TR are the pictures of Little Prince. He is so darned cute with those chubby cheeks and big toothless grin that I get this uncontrollable urge to squish him. :cutie: In a good way, of course :lovestruc You must be hugging him all day long.

I'm just glad they refunded you for the entire night, anything less wouldn't have been right. I'm also glad you're going to be speaking with somebody about how to prevent it for future trips. Can't wait for more :)

Here are some assorted pictures that I just found. Our dear friends had given me a CD loaded with some of the pictures they took during our shared time together and I promptly misplaced it. I just came across it, so I thought I would share the pictures that would have gone in the previous installments if I had not lost them earlier.

This batch of pictures is from our dream day. And they are "more of the same" sorts of shots...but I didn't want to pass up the chance to share them with you all. Hope you enjoy!

:lovestruc :cloud9: Thanks! You say the sweetest things. And those outfits...I really feel in love with them and we had a lot of people stopping us and asking where we got such cute costumes from the NBC, I replied to everyone of them that "a dear friend made these" and each one was sad that they couldn't go and purchase them from a store at WDW. You should open up your own costume outfit business! :thumbsup2
Awww YOU say the sweetest things. You just made my night, thanks Jay!!!!

I love the costumes you had made by mousetripper great work!!!!

IMousetriper did do a great job on making those! She is such a dear friend and for her to have made those for the boys was such a sweet thing to do. I cherish those outfits.
Awww again, thank you both!!! I loved making them!!! I loved it so much I am making another set for my baby boy...he will match his sister!!!:goodvibes

Yippeee...so glad you are getting a 100% refund on your room for that 1st night. I sure hope they can figure out a way to make sure this does not happen on any of your future trips...or anyone else's trips for that matter.

Looking forward to the next installment Jay....:surfweb: popcorn::

Day 6...An Afternoon at MK!

After cruising through the jungle, the boys were up for some watery fun. They LOVE the statues that 'spit' out water.
disney08449.jpg

A quick clip of some watery fun.

I really think those two could have played there for ages. As it was, we had characters to see and rides to be on...so we limited them to about five minutes of 'dodge the spit'. ;)

Up next, another boat ride was in store for us. It was time for us to ride the PotC for the first time as a family of 6 (dh and our LP had missed out on our ride the night before since they were staking our parade spots).
Here's a short clip of the ride. You might just want to close your eyes and listen. :rotfl: Seriously though, the picture came out very poorly but I just like to click on it and 'listen' to the ride.

We did a bit of shopping on our way back into the park from the ride. I don't know why, but this ride's gift shop always seems to draw me in and cause my fingers to hand over my KTTW card in exchange for pirate booty.

When we were finally done paying the ransom to free our chosen treasures I happened to see Mack making his way over to the Pirate Tutorial area. We didn't want to miss this, so I sent the boys scurrying over to find a place near the front of the rope (once Mack got there to put the rope up).

Stitch was picked to learn to fight pirate style. He loved every second of his time up there and really hammed it up. The other two older boys were chosen to come up at the end be sworn in as part of Captain Jack Sparrow's crew. :thumbsup2 All three of the boys were ear to ear grins when I had them hold up the certificates they were given afterward!

**I am heartbroken to say, I have NO pictures of this interaction OR anything that happened the rest of the day with the exception of a few photographs that our dear friends passed on to me from our dinner at CRT together. I had my camera until at least as we were leaving the park (and I could have sworn it made it back to the WL with me) but I lost it sometime after that. Thankfully the memory card had gotten full during our PotC ride and I had switched out the memory chip with all of the previous days pictures on it for a fresh one. Although I am upset with myself for losing the camera, I am so very relieved that I didn't lose all of those pictures. It sure does stink to have lost an afternoon's worth of pictures...but how much worse would it have been to have lost 6 days worth instead! And YES, I frequently lose or break important things while on vacation, it's a very bad habit that I really need to cure myself of!!**

About this time, our Little Prince was getting hungry and tired. Instead of heading back to the resort, we chose to head over to Frontierland and enjoy the thrill rides by taking turns feeding/strolling our LP to sleep.

While dh and the older boys hit BTMRR, I found a quiet spot in the shade down near the entrance to Splash Mountain and proceeded to kick back on a wide stone fence where I while I fed my hungry little nugget (I used the word NUGGET just for you Heidi ;)). By the time I had half of his baby mush (what Stitch likes to call baby food) into him, he was losing the battle of keeping his eyes open. I tossed the rest of the baby food and walked him around for a few seconds to make sure he was really out. Then I threw my feet up on the fence, leaned back and took advantage of that quiet moment to reflect just how amazing our trip had already been. It was day six of a dream of a vacation and I wasn't even half way through all of the fun and exciting days that we had planned! I got a bit choked up and almost started crying happy tears. What a silly ninny I must have looked like, but I was so happy, I didn't even care! Life was feeling mighty sweet right about that time!

I barely had time to pull my sappy self together before dh and the older boys were back. They were begging for another ride on BTMRR and dh only does one ride a day on that ride due to his motion sickness issues...so I volunteered to take them (they didn't need to ask me twice :lmao: ) and we made our way back to BTMRR for another quick ride (NO LINES ROCK!!).

When we got back to dh, I offered to let him ride on Splash Mountain with the boys but he opted to stay with the LP and continue to work using his Blackberry (UGH, more work at WDW!). So the boys and I scampered off for another adventure with Briar Rabbit and friends (and foes). I know I have said it before, but I SOOOOOO love SM! It's such an amazing ride. I love how long it is. I love the music. I love the drops. I love the animatronics! I love the characters! I love the story! I LOVE SPLASH MOUNTAIN! :woohoo:

It was almost time for our dinner. Tonight we would be dining like royalty at Cinderella's Royal Table. We were looking forward to eating in the castle and also to having our friends meet up with us for the meal. Each of our families had been enjoying the park separately during the day and we had planned to meet up for dinner...more time with some of our favorite friends at our favorite place!! WOO HOO!:thumbsup2

But on our way to the castle we stopped and enjoyed Mickey's Philharmagic. This is always a top rated show for everyone in the family. Even our LP liked it (although he didn't wear the 3-D glasses)!

After that naughty duck led us on a wild hat chase, we finally ended up at the castle. Within a very few minutes of checking in, we were called inside to pose for our picture with Cinderella. I love the details in the throne room. The little Gus Gus and Jack Jack scampering along the trim near the ceiling. The suits of armor. The royal crests. The details in the wood, the trim, the floor, the mosaics, the throne itself. I am glad you get to wait in this room after your pictures!

Here are a few pictures our dear friends shared with us of our wait in the throne room. Although we had each enjoyed our separate family time, we were all very happy to be back together again!
DSC01134.jpg

You can see that Cinderella is holding one of the magic wands they pass out to the girls and our Little Prince is holding on to one of the magic swords they pass out to the boys. I know people say that CRT is overpriced...but I think it's a pretty good deal when you use the dining plan. YES it costs you two credits...BUT, you get a small toy for each child, pictures (our family is big enough to get two photo packages, groups of 5 or more do), the tip is included and you get to eat in the heart of Cinderella's Castle! So for me, it's worth it!
DSC01135.jpg

I think Stitch was either about to protect me or attack me with his sword. He was equally into doing both! ;)
DSC01136.jpg

I will post our photo package pictures as soon as I get them scanned in.

After dinner we stuck with our friends and made our way over to Tomorrowland together. It was like a repeat of the night before, VERY low crowd levels, no lines with the exception of a five minute wait for Space Mountain and having to wait until the next show started at the Monster's Inc Laugh Floor show...another great night in Tomorrowland!

About 45 minutes before the park closed we said goodbye to our friends who were leaving early to get a bit of rest. We weren't ready to leave just yet so we took a few more turns trying to zap Zurg. We also stopped at the DVC kiosk set up there and inquired about the deal we had seen posted in our resort room. For just going to hear their spiel you would get $100 in gift cards. That sounded good to me! I would get dh's interest piqued in DVC and also get $100 to spend at WDW! What could be better than that? As we checked into it, we confirmed the length of time it would take to hear about DVC and see the models. We were told it would take 45-an hour. Maybe a tad bit longer depending on if we wanted to hang out and enjoy a scoop of ice cream afterward. That would fit perfectly in our late morning plans...so we right up.

We had time for just one more ride so we headed over to the TTA and took a ride around Tomorrowland. What a great vantage point for the fireworks!! It was magical to be almost eye level with the fireworks while you whizzed by them on a ride!:cloud9:

TO BE CONTINUED!

Jay, Jay, Jay....what is up with you losing or breaking things while on vacation???? :scared1: :confused3 Hmmm...you may need some help there...perhaps a PERSONAL photographer to tag along on all your AMAZING WDW adventures!!!!!!! One who would bring their own camera equipment and one who would keep this equipment a significant SAFE distance from one person in particular.....YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (heheheheheheheh)

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Pick me...pick me...pick me!!!! Hahahahaha

Seriously though, loved the update, can't wait for the next part already!!!

While dh and the older boys hit BTMRR, I found a quiet spot in the shade down near the entrance to Splash Mountain and proceeded to kick back on a wide stone fence where I while I fed my hungry little nugget (I used the word NUGGET just for you Heidi ;)).

:dance3: :thumbsup2 :cool1: :yay: :cheer2:

Loved the video of the boys being spit on!! :lmao:

I can't believe you lost your camera but I'm so glad that you had that memory card!

Your TR and all of your pictures are making DD and I even more excited for our trip and at midnight tonight it will be :::: 8 DAYS!!!!

What a fun day! Sorry that you lost your camera, but as you said, at least you were able to capture the first six days. CRT is beautiful inside :cloud9: We haven't been there in years....hmmm maybe next year! ;) Oh and I loved the interior pictures of the yacht -- you could almost live there! Can't wait for more fun!

Thanks for the POTC video! I loved hearing "we wants the redhead", being a redhead and all that's my favorite part! :thumbsup2

That really stinks that you lost your camera! I'm assuming you checked with guest services to see if anyone turned it in? I'm so glad you had just changed out your memory card, I would have been mortified to loose all of the great pictures you had taken up to that point!

Looking forward to more!
