I just found out I can extend my family's vacation by 2 additional days with no added cost. This is because the price of our airfare went down considerably from when I originally purchased the tickets and Southwest is refunding the difference. I'm obviously excited and wanted to share with people who would appreciate our good news.

I know 16 days is a very long time to stay at WDW. Our last trip we only stayed 10 days and that seemed like a long time. Does anyone have tips for lengthy stays? What would you do differently if you had 16 days? My husband and I have one child who will be 15 months in November. Thiis will be our first vacation with our son and it's also our first vacation in two years.

Thanks!

Wow that is awesome, I wish our family could do but with my oldest being in high school now, it is extremely hard for us (unless we did it during the summer, but I really don't think my DH would want to spend 16 days in the Florida heat :sad2:). Now for your question....if my family were to spend 16 glorious days in WDW, we would definitely have many down days were we aren't in the parks and do things that some people don't realize you can do and still have fun. For instance, our family loves to rent a pontoon boat from one of the MK resorts and go around both Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon, go resort hopping at all of the different resorts (especially on the monorail line so you can take the monorail to each one), of course go to DTD and do some shopping and walk around to see all of the new changes that is occurring there, go to Typhoon Lagoon Water park since Blizzard Beach will be closed for refurbishment when you are there (I know you have a 15 month old, but there are little kid area there that he will have fun at), or just spend time at your resort and hang out at your own pool. When you do go to the parks, make sure you take breaks during the mid day, because you are there so long, you can go to the parks for a few hours, have lunch, then head back for some R&R (or do one of the things on the above list), and then head back for dinner (or after dinner) for the night time festivities (I wouldn't go to Typhoon Lagoon during a break though). Have a wonderful time and really enjoy everything....also make sure to really stop and smell the roses :goodvibes.
