We went the opposite way around the World Showcase starting with Canada today. Tom wanted to stop at the French Bakery for breakfast. He picked out the Chocolate Praline Cake which was alright but not in the same ballpark as the Norway double chocolate cake IMHO. I know my chocolate, it is my favorite food group. I am putting the Creme Brulee on my 'to try' list for the next trip. Got to have something to look forward to in life.

Morrocco offers a guided tour at 1 and 3 each day and we were the only guests on our tour. A delightful young lady, with a twinkle in her eye and loaded with much information gave us a tour. I learned a lot but we lost dh at the entrance to the restaurant as he was absorbed by the decor. I am sure that the fact that the belly dancer was around had nothing to do with it. After all, what does she have that I do not have more (much more) of? LOL I talked him into sharing a platter with me. The veggie one looked pretty good but he insisted on satisfying his carniverous appetites, might have been the memory of all that skin showing on the dancer though. I ate the chicken while he ate the lamb. I grew up with lamb and long outgrew any taste for it. For just a bit more we got a piece of bacalava so the meal came to $13.26. I would do this one again but would use a voucher next time in order to get more bang for the buck as well as a larger and chocolate dessert. At Spain we were entertained by the Valencia Dancers who were quite good. They were so good that they got a couple from the audience up on the stage and made them look good as well.

Off Kilter delighted us with their rendition of Run, Run Away, one of my favorites and Whiskey in a Jar. I heard they had recently been in our area. I am going to check their website as I would enjoy watching a full version of their show any old time.

Has anyone ever noticed in the O Canada show when the monks file down the aisle that the last one on the right is scratching his butt? That ranks right up there with the poor guy who falls while skiing (The Agony of Defeat). Poor guy, luckily you cannot see his face.

Being a member of the EWP group I was required to see that parade at least once during our trip. Last time I was joined by IASWRider and her hubby, Frank at the Poly. Having seen it from the Grand Floridian we decided to give the Wilderness Lodge a try. We ate at the Whispering Canyon, loud, bright lights and lots of interuptions. The food was pretty good but I could have used a bit more peace and quiet. The view for the parade was as perfect as any we have seen (to the right of the pool bar, near the stand of trees on the beach) but unfortunately it was an abbreviated version. Only had the sea serpent, something else and then the turtle and then it changed into a patriotic theme and then sailed off around the bend. Not sure I would have gone all that way had I known.:hyper:

Back to EPCOT for our last day. Is why we have stayed so long. I had to see The Beach Boys and Three Dog Night and it was easier to stay for a full 16 days rather than drive back and forth. That is my story and I am sticking to it. Not as bad as a certain lady I know who, during the hurricanes, convinced her hubby that the only rooms available were at Disney World. WTG!!!!

No Garden Grill this time as they were full up. Biergarten here we come again!! It is one of the best bargains, good food (pretzel bread, chicken, meatballs salads), good company and get to meet new people and the band is a hoot. We found seats for the Chinese Acrobats and caught the entire act but it was so hot and the sun was shining in our eyes. They are fantastic and gave a different show from before.

Three Dog Night were awesome! I almost forgave them for making us beg for Joy to the World. Good voices and great show. Well worth staying to see them. Even worth having to take a bus back to the resort. Having already packed the car in advance we were set to check out tomorrow morning. This was our longest trip so far and was almost a bit too long. Twelve days seems to be about right but who could give up watching the concerts. Chubby Checker was due in a few more weeks and dh would gladly have waited for him. LOL

Oops, almost forgot our stop at Norway bakery for something to take back to the room for breakfast in the morning. I got the almond pretzel (wonderful and large too) some sort of rolled up thing that had sugar and cinnamon in it (you got two and that was two too much for me) and dh ordered a chocolate pound cake. I gave him a hard time about ordering such a mundane thing at such a high cost. I was wrong (please do not tell him it would encourage him far too much). It was so dense and delicious. I had a hard time stopping myself at one bite and will dreaming about it until our next trip.

I believe I forgot another DIS sighting. I met a lady who is a moderator on here on the bridge at AK as we were headed to Lion King and then saw her again while we were in line for the Kilamanjaro Safari. I am sorry we did not get to talk much, she sure looked like a nice person.

Our next trip is already set for November of 2005 and then we will be back twice in 2006, once with our grandkids. In the meantime I will dream of all the old favorites and new things to try. Thank you all for all the tips and help you give us that enable us to enjoy DW even more.

My fingers are weak and my brain even more so but if anyone has any questions I will attempt to answer them, in extreme detail.

That would be me :) I've been told I am nice by one or two people, but I'm not sure I believe them ;) It was nice meeting you, Linda (and you made it into my trip report, too). See day two.

I am doubly sorry I did not get to visit with you now especially since I see you are a Jellyrolls fan as well. Maybe another trip, another day we can make plans.

Why would you not believe that people think you are nice unless you make it a habit to run around with liars and I doubt that. LOL

I am headed over to check out your report. Will be interesting to see how many of the same things we did or pick up tips for our next trip.

I really enjoyed reading your report! We are getting ready for our upcoming trip and you have given me lots of new "gotta try that"
ideas! Thanks for sharing and pixie dust to you!

Great report ~ Thanx for sharing.

CadiesMom, glad to have been of some help. We have been so very many times but we still have many things on our 'to do' list. Have a wonderful trip!!

Oh, how I wish your October 26th would have ended at the marina of the Grand Floridian Resort, ~sigh.~ But at least you enjoyed yourself at the 3 Dog Night concert (drats!). I thought of you that evening and secretly wished that somehow you would have been able to stop by the Grand. Maybe in the future our paths will cross again and we will be able to spend more time together. I had so much fun with you and your husband on the first night of my vacation. I would love to repeat that experience (hint! hint!).

Start making plans for November 2005. LOL We are planning on returning then to see the Osbourne Lights. I can see us sauntering through New York Street while the masses are at the parade or wherever. (smile)

SlightlyGoofy, I am thinking the end of October / beginning of November might be a good time to head to the World next (I have to be there for Halloween, my favorite day). Will you be there at the beginning of November?

Hi Janet, it would be more toward the end of November as we want to see the lights and even we cannot stay the whole month. LOL If you should come in later in the month it might be possible though as we would probably plan to come in for about ten days or so, leaving after the lights come on which is usually about the 24th and leaving before Thanksgiving Day.

I have to be here for Halloween as all the kids in town come here to trick or treat. LOL

Linda, you have me eagerly awaiting the days when my mean little children are a bit older and I can actually get to enjoy all the wonders of Epcot. Nowadays the kids just gripe whenever we try to hang out in "the nations..." Please be prepared to tell me on Monday where you get your vouchers and how you get into the nations early enough for breakfast. Do you go in through Beach Club area? I must try the rice cream and basically everything at the Norway Bakery sounds wonderful! It seems like I have been missing out on some SERIOUS food... Although I have tried Morocco more than once YUM.

Colleen, I am afraid that I am not quite that knowledgeable about everything. I am assuming you are interested in the Princess Breakfast at Norway. I saw them checking for PS's at MK to allow some people in to have breakfast in the Castle before the park opened and I am thinking it would probably be the same at EPCOT and you could go in either entrance if you have a pass and it would depend on where you are staying.

Maybe you hubby will take the little darlings one day so that you can saunter the streets of the World Showcase.

I know what you mean about being limited in your actions. I would dearly love to do the GF tea but my dh, who thinks that manners are for the weak, would be a severe detriment to the poor people around our table so I refrain. On the 2006 trip I will have access to a young lady who would be a good companion though. Now, do you think that the Fairy Godmother could be hired to watch dh? I know he would rather the belly dancer from Morocco but that ain't going to happen. LOL

Linda - I am so impressed I just had to post a reply. I also am 56 and a grandmother of 7 grand sons (2 are step-grands but I count them just the same) and 1 grand daughter.

I have so enjoyed your reports. It is quite obvious they are written from the heart and your sense of humor simple oozes out through your words. I can picture the events as they occur. Must have missed your true calling to be a writer?

We are returning to WDW for our 4th trip together. We have been married almost 13 years, but it SHOULD have been 30 - just didn't know each other then. Even though your DH is 70 and mine is only 59 (well, almost) they sound a great deal alike.

I appreciate that you actually tour through the parks and take the time to talk (and be talked TO) by both CMs and guests. My mom worried because I didn't talk until I was almost 3 - and then worried because I never shut up - says I never met a stranger. I'm afraid if you and I were in the same place and the same time they'd have to pry us appart with a, hmmm, let's see... Creme Brulee?

Really, it is a joy to read your posts. I don't do much on the internet, but sure enjoy my time on the disboards.

By the way, where is it that you sit for the Spectro parade? And what are the chances of getting seats there 60 minutes before the parade?

2ofUs, maybe we can plan some DW trips together. We will let our menfolks go off on their own, trusting that the CM's will see them safely back to the resorts at the end of the day, and you and I will tour by ourselves. I know that mine cannot get into too much trouble as he even refuses to have a room key with charging privleges. Too much pressure for him. LOL Sounds like we could be quite a pair though.

I keep getting the "you should be a writer" but since it comes so easily off my tongue and fingertips I just have never really considered that I might have some talent. I know I am for sure not in Zurgswife's category. LOL

Thank you so very much for your kind words. I have health problems and cannot get around all that fast but I enjoy the slow pace and taking the time to meet people. It is a special pleasure to meet people who have never been or do not know what do next and help them out. It makes my day to be able to do something for someone. I have few talents but try to use the ones I do.

We sit at the RR station at MK. As you enter look up and you will see the station above where the lockers are. If you do not want to sit a really long time and are able to sit on the curb you might be able to get great seats just before the second parade (on the nights that they have such) as many people leave after the fireworks.

I would gladly share a Creme Brulee with you any old time. Will be going back in November of 2005 and in the summer of 2006 and again in November of 2006, God willing and the crick don't rise. Pick your dates. LOL I will even hold seats for you at Spectro.

SG/Linda (read a book to those grandkids for me, please?)

While cleaning off my desk I found that I forgot the honeymoon couple who were danced around the floor by the wait staff at Biergarten. I had a front table and was able to get some pretty good pictures of them and they were kind enough to trust me with their address. (knowing they were gone from home I might have jetted over to clear them out - NOT!) LOL Anyway I picked up my vacation pictures the other day to take to a meet with a fellow DISer (Hi Colleen!) and just sent them off to the couple.

Yet another thing we can do the spread the magic!! Even my dh, who is allergic to work, does his best to help with the magic while at DW. He picks up pieces of errant trash. Sure wish he would learn to do that around here. Maybe if I redecorate with purple and red colors and put lots of Mickey heads around? Maybe a talking trash can? "Pick that up Mister and I do mean now!!!!!" Is a thought.

Do you know why women nag? Cause men do NOT listen!!! (ducking for cover)

SG/Linda

just happened to catch all your reports - very cute and amusing.
thanks for sharing

Cute and amusing? Just like moi. LOL Thanks for the encouragement Kathymc. Can't wait until I have a chance to write more, next November. Am so sad that next year is only a one Disney vacation year.
