We went the opposite way around the World Showcase starting with Canada today. Tom wanted to stop at the French Bakery for breakfast. He picked out the Chocolate Praline Cake which was alright but not in the same ballpark as the Norway double chocolate cake IMHO. I know my chocolate, it is my favorite food group. I am putting the Creme Brulee on my 'to try' list for the next trip. Got to have something to look forward to in life.
Morrocco offers a guided tour at 1 and 3 each day and we were the only guests on our tour. A delightful young lady, with a twinkle in her eye and loaded with much information gave us a tour. I learned a lot but we lost dh at the entrance to the restaurant as he was absorbed by the decor. I am sure that the fact that the belly dancer was around had nothing to do with it. After all, what does she have that I do not have more (much more) of? LOL I talked him into sharing a platter with me. The veggie one looked pretty good but he insisted on satisfying his carniverous appetites, might have been the memory of all that skin showing on the dancer though. I ate the chicken while he ate the lamb. I grew up with lamb and long outgrew any taste for it. For just a bit more we got a piece of bacalava so the meal came to $13.26. I would do this one again but would use a voucher next time in order to get more bang for the buck as well as a larger and chocolate dessert. At Spain we were entertained by the Valencia Dancers who were quite good. They were so good that they got a couple from the audience up on the stage and made them look good as well.
Off Kilter delighted us with their rendition of Run, Run Away, one of my favorites and Whiskey in a Jar. I heard they had recently been in our area. I am going to check their website as I would enjoy watching a full version of their show any old time.
Has anyone ever noticed in the O Canada show when the monks file down the aisle that the last one on the right is scratching his butt? That ranks right up there with the poor guy who falls while skiing (The Agony of Defeat). Poor guy, luckily you cannot see his face.
Being a member of the EWP group I was required to see that parade at least once during our trip. Last time I was joined by IASWRider and her hubby, Frank at the Poly. Having seen it from the Grand Floridian we decided to give the Wilderness Lodge a try. We ate at the Whispering Canyon, loud, bright lights and lots of interuptions. The food was pretty good but I could have used a bit more peace and quiet. The view for the parade was as perfect as any we have seen (to the right of the pool bar, near the stand of trees on the beach) but unfortunately it was an abbreviated version. Only had the sea serpent, something else and then the turtle and then it changed into a patriotic theme and then sailed off around the bend. Not sure I would have gone all that way had I known.

Back to EPCOT for our last day. Is why we have stayed so long. I had to see The Beach Boys and Three Dog Night and it was easier to stay for a full 16 days rather than drive back and forth. That is my story and I am sticking to it. Not as bad as a certain lady I know who, during the hurricanes, convinced her hubby that the only rooms available were at Disney World. WTG!!!!
No Garden Grill this time as they were full up. Biergarten here we come again!! It is one of the best bargains, good food (pretzel bread, chicken, meatballs salads), good company and get to meet new people and the band is a hoot. We found seats for the Chinese Acrobats and caught the entire act but it was so hot and the sun was shining in our eyes. They are fantastic and gave a different show from before.
Three Dog Night were awesome! I almost forgave them for making us beg for Joy to the World. Good voices and great show. Well worth staying to see them. Even worth having to take a bus back to the resort. Having already packed the car in advance we were set to check out tomorrow morning. This was our longest trip so far and was almost a bit too long. Twelve days seems to be about right but who could give up watching the concerts. Chubby Checker was due in a few more weeks and dh would gladly have waited for him. LOL
Oops, almost forgot our stop at Norway bakery for something to take back to the room for breakfast in the morning. I got the almond pretzel (wonderful and large too) some sort of rolled up thing that had sugar and cinnamon in it (you got two and that was two too much for me) and dh ordered a chocolate pound cake. I gave him a hard time about ordering such a mundane thing at such a high cost. I was wrong (please do not tell him it would encourage him far too much). It was so dense and delicious. I had a hard time stopping myself at one bite and will dreaming about it until our next trip.
I believe I forgot another DIS sighting. I met a lady who is a moderator on here on the bridge at AK as we were headed to Lion King and then saw her again while we were in line for the Kilamanjaro Safari. I am sorry we did not get to talk much, she sure looked like a nice person.
Our next trip is already set for November of 2005 and then we will be back twice in 2006, once with our grandkids. In the meantime I will dream of all the old favorites and new things to try. Thank you all for all the tips and help you give us that enable us to enjoy DW even more.
My fingers are weak and my brain even more so but if anyone has any questions I will attempt to answer them, in extreme detail.
SG/Linda (see you around the boards)
