Finally made my way back to you all! Gee, the real world is sure a busy place. Children to hug and things to clean, sigh. Wish there were more of the former and less of the later. LOL

Had to go back and see where I left off. Senility is not so very bad most of the time. I meet the nicest new people, over and over again. LOL

October 17th found us at Animal Kingdom early in the morning. Walked straight back to Kilamanjaro Safari and were able to get right in line. I was a bit worried as I like the first trip of the day but we saw more animals than we had ever seen before. Must have been the cloudy weather which kept them out and about rather than hiding in the shade. Something magical about seeing two giraffes walking right toward you. My youngest grandson will love this on our next trip. I had heard that Kevin, one of the hosts at the Millionaire is a singer at the Lion King show so we went to check it out. I had misunderstood at first and thought he played Tarzan. While he is a good looking feller I did not think his suit could hide quite so many muscles. LOL No Kevin in sight but the show was awesome. Ever notice that when you sit in different places each show or attraction has a whole new feel? We stopped for one of the talked about ice cream cones at the Funnel, but it was not all that IMHO. Mickey bars rock!! Speaking of rocking, we sauntered over to Tarzan Rocks and had great seats to see all the monkey shines and such. I like the new production better than the other one.

While waiting for the parade I made the aquaintance of a young college student/CM. He was very sweet but I fear he is not destined to be Disney material for long. He could not understand the concept of why you had to be on time for work and was hiding from his supervisor as he had not shaved. He was pleasant and friendly although I fear it was more out of not wanting to work more than anything. He told me about living in the college dorms and how much turnover there was. Drinking seems to be the most prevalant problem but then we ARE dealing with young people away from time for the very first time, mostly.

We drive over to the Crossroads area to have dinner. Decided to try out Uno's and went in and sat down. In the lengthy time it took a waiter to come to help us we looked at the menu and were less than impressed. Something about the words "generous" rather than 'full' rack of ribs led my dh to fear that he would not be getting his usual five pounds of ribs and he could not bear that. We left the table as we found it and wandered across the lot to Red Lobster which had been advertising all you can eat shrimp. While I was only able to eat most of one serving my skinnier hubby ate five servings of everything AND polished off what was left on my plate. Atmosphere was good, service was great and the quality of the food was what you would expect and the prices were average as well, but much cheaper than Disney.

Quiet evening in the room, watching tv and resting up for whatever might await us tomorrow.

October 18th, 2004

I treated dh to breakfast at Golden Corral today. I had found a coupon so it was only $5.99 and included beverages such as oj, coffee, milk etc. If they did not have it on the buffet, it does not exist. I bet there were at least five different kinds of gravy alone. Managed to make myself sick so we had to go back to the room to rest a bit before heading over to EPCOT. (you would think I would learn-sigh)

Off Kilter was our first stop as usual. Just plain love them, knees, ornery grins and all. Checked out the waterfalls at Canada and strolled through several countries, taking in the obscure sights that we enjoy or have missed on other trips. We were able to walk onto most everything all day long. We skipped Taylor Dayne, as I had never heard of her but heard later that she gave an awesome show.

Back to the Orlando Ale House for dinner yet again. They are starting to recognize us by now. Whatever you do , do NOT order onion rings unless you have a party of twelve or more. They are huge and sooo delicious. Had to take my salad back to the room as I had no room for it. A Disney bus cut me off near Blizzard Beach on our return home. I am afraid that I saw several such incidences while we were on this trip. I am a pretty careful driver so I survived but wonder what happens to some of the poor people who are unfamiliar and trust in Disney watching out for them? Been there, done that. To balance that negative I must admit that the roads and signage at DW is wonderful. Very logical and almost idiot proof. The red and purple is great in the daytime but for some reason the white letters run into each other at night. I have gotten so good at driving around property that I would drive my grandkids AND after dark and I do not take any chances with those precious people!!

Magic Kingdom day!! Checked the tote board and to my surprise there were few lines today either! Back to Fantasyland to catch a few things we had missed before. I rode Peter Pan's ride for the first time. Laugh, if you must, but I am terrified of heights. I will ride this again and again from now on and wonder what else I am missing out on. Philharmonic is growing on me. I did not care for it the first time. It is much better when you sit in the back. I used my pass to get an extra FP so that dh could ride first Splash Mountain and then Big Thunder Mountain. I sat under the railroad and caught up on my thinking. Hey, at my age, the fact that I CAN think is pretty darned good. I was plotting the days to come and planning is important.

We caught a light meal at Pinocchio's for lunch. I always order the children's hot dog meals which come with FF, orange segments and a small drink. When you add the toppings of cheese to the FF and all the other stuff on the hot dogs you have a very nice meal for a more reasonable price. The hot dog and bun are quality and that makes the difference. Is always a bit crowded in there and the lines are unorganized, they have someone helping you find a l ine) but once you get seated it is a comfortable place to be on a warm day. Dole Whip is always on our list while at MK so we stopped by and this time I had the one that had a bit of pineapple juice in it also. Was a tiny bit more but you got more for your buck. We shared it while sitting in the quiet place just across from Pirates. The DVC lady recognized me and called me by name. Always worries me when that happens cause it means I am somewhat of a character, I fear. OK, I know. (sigh) I remain unrepentant though. Not likely to change this late in the game anyway.

Tom wanted to watch me play Millionaire yet again so we drove over for the day. They recognize me from year to year now. I are unforgettable and by the end of the day I was more so. LOL With no pressure I somehow managed to get every single answer right all day long and every time the top ten board lit up I was on the top of the board. I will admit it was kind of fun having to decline the honor the first few times (I had already played the hot seat) but it got a bit embarrassing after awhile. When I finally got my senses back I realized what was going on and left before the last game in fear that I would spoil my 'record". It is all in the luck of the draw as to what questions are asked and this was my lucky day. If only it would happen while I was in the 'seat". (grin)

Headed over to Beauty & the Beast after getting ressies for the Fantasmic package at Hollywood & Vine. I miss the old costumes that converted (only one now) but the show is still entertaining and beautiful. Four for a Dollar performed before hand and seranaded a young lady for her birthday. They are wonderful.

Hollywood & Vine is one of our favorite places to eat and I will gladly pay the bucks for it even though there is no human way I can eat enough to justify the costs. I dream of the chocolate mousse in the dark chocolate cups all year long. It was not busy and our waiter was extremely chatty. He was fixated on our last name and kept coming back to tell us things about the name or people he thought had the same name. Very friendly guy but a bit much. DH gladly ate more than his fill to take up the slack for what I could not eat. He is such a nice fellow. :hyper:

Being wise to the ways of Fantasmic we found seats near the top of the stadium where it would be easier to get out of later. The show almost did not take place as the weather was quite iffy. After it started we were able to finagle a place for a mom with four kids to sit. The one poor child had to sit between me and dh so he could see and was justifiably nervous but I think he finally figured out that we were benign. We sat and chatted with some other fellow passholders while the huddled masses surged toward the front of the park in a desperate rush to get out of the park. For the very first time I was able to drive to MGM even though we were leaving after dark. I take the safely of all my fellow DISers extremely seriously so I would not do so unless I am 100% sure I would not cause harm to anyone. It is sooo much better than waiting on line for a bus or possibly having to stand. Now, if I could figure out MK or EPCOT.

Last report will be up tomorrow, I hope. Last four days.

Hi Linda. Found time to finish reading your fun reports. We can finish talking about your trip when we meet on Monday. Too bad neither of us has a clue as to how to post a picture of our "fabulous Bloomington Meet at Ryan's!"

Hi Colleen~

Given enough time I can figure out how to do most anything and failing that I know enough smart people I can beg for help so maybe a picture is not out of the question. I am planning on bringing my camera and I know how to scan a picture to Rider and we know that she is the Queen of Photography. LOL

Colleen, I learned this the hard way and will give you this advice for free. LOL

If you wear dark colors not only will you look about 8 ounces smaller than you are you will also look depressed and old (unless you are Lisa who seems to thrive on black LOL). I stopped wearing the dark colors a few years back and went the other way. I had one hot pink outfit that made me look like a cross dressing Orson Welles but at least I looked cheerful!

Wear anything you wish, you will look great as long as you also remember to put a smile. Bet that is not hard for you.

Two more days!!!!

Minniespal , You are most welcome. Congratulations on the 100 days cheat free. I am thrilled when I can complete 7 such days in a row.

Maybe you can answer a question for me? How come when I eat celery everyday and save umpteen calories I might be lucky to lose 1 pound BUT if I eat just one donut (350 calories per) I can gain 5 pounds in the next hour. If one pound gain or loss is equal to 3500 calories I should be able to eat at least 10 donuts before gaining just one pound. Is very confusing and not at all fair!!! (grumble) LOL
